WR 450 CO Setting
Hey Guys,
I got my hands around my dreambike, and its a 2013 WR450F.
I had the same issue as most guys and worked my way around it.
Though i didn't lower my idle speed enough for the bike to die at the CO setting i achieved, here are the instructions.
My exhaust header used to glow red and after CO setting of 8, the bike runs much cooler and no glowing header.
Sorry for the cuts in the video, but my battery drained from sitting too long before this video.

i got the seals but one of them seems to be thinner, same part number and everything, should i put a washer??? can you make a vid please???? of how to put the seals on the case because i cant really see in your vid

I have the same tool and it never reads when the bike turns on. But my wire is blue instead of green

Hello, hot. The problem with the bike happens when the bike is hot, so you need to warm it up until the exhaust header is hot and glowing red. Then you is just until it is not red anymore. Better to do at night time.
If you need the tool. I can sell mine, I already sold the bike.

nope rear is a axis too and that lift is cuz they are set to a zero preload setup to lower it for better handling and longer travel
are you running stock jets with that exhaust?
check the fuel, sound like its not getting enough or dirt in carb
the rears are axis and that one sticker said hotcam and its normal for the quad to do that but for yfz's if you do a lot of seat bouncing on jumps it will break your subframe
U should hit that full speed n see how far u can fly btw u have no balls to be riding that thing ur suppose to rip on them a lil to keep the carbon out
@KTMisgay tbh the only ATVs i like are Yamaha, theyre the most advanced.... When it comes to trail bikes, CRF450X calls my attention and WR250, for me KTMs are like a honda/suzuki that comes tuned up for racing whilst Yamahas are almost race ready. I dont race but i think KTMs are exotic bikes with all those upgrades and Yamahas offer better value for money. plus the reliability...

@gusocorredor what year is your yfz 450 check too see if your chain is tight every ride and you wont have that problem
@mossow71 i found out that black plastic adjuster is an extension for the idle screw behind the carb, fuel/air is somewhere else, but that shown in the video is the idle. All good now, running great, well actually not running at all. Chain came off rear sprocket and jammed up between front sprocket and swing arm. Changing chain + sprockets ;)
your idle is too low thats why its shutting off turn up your speed adjuster different all yfz's speed adjuster is behind the carb not in front.its hard to adjust the speed adjuster on the kehin fcr carbs.
@dillonfriesen oooh i see what you mean, maybe you didnt understand. Look, in the video i am comparing old/new, each corresponding to each other. but the new one i ordered for one of the sides is a bit thinner. I know they only fit one way. the question was cus i thought they sent me the parts for a diff year since there were "2" YFZs 04-06 and 07-08, anyways this video was a long time ago, i put the parts in and i have about 15 hours and no leaks ;)
the bigger one is inside the case the smaller one outerside of the case. didnt you look at it when you took it out? and they can only fit one way.

@YourFavoriteReviewer it doesnt cost you anything to do videos, especially when you have spare time. its there just in case people have any questions of where to start, btw tht was my first time doing it so yeah, it doesnt require any skills, all you need is common sense and a 10mm wrench with an extension ;)
really? why would you need to look up how to take your plastics off of your quad? all you have to do is find all of the bolts and take em out and take the battery out if its in the way or the air filter ect. trust me ive done it not hatin on the vid im just sayin

@shattaj15 i dont have the YFZ at my house anymore and i dont have access to any tools for a while, anyway, i didnt put them on, i bought the yfz used with all the mods already on. sorry, but tou hook it up to the pegs and near the oil tank, so start unbolting your pegs, grab bars, remove exhaust ( thts what i did on my blaster)

i would've used the white sides instead of blue sides,you should try it,bet it would look beautiful

@Matt06yfz yeah, i think its supposed ro be yellow- white-black, but the white parts should have black graphics, i checked out at yamahas website, and the blue is supposed to be all blue, but it looks sick with the white shrouds when its blue

@gusocorredor prolly a 2005 and up not really sure if i want the yfz or the ktm tho
@green2stroke what year r u thinking, if its 07+ oil mod is done, but no matter what year, change the coolant seals, bearing and shaft (not impeller) and check the charging system before you go ride so tht u dont end up having to push it to turn on, if it backfires, check exhaust header, mine was lose. any other issues u wanna know???

@green2stroke but mine only charges when the fan turns on :S and the lights run off the alternator so i dont know why people say tht leaving lights on solves the problem, so i charge before each ride, just in case....... i have been in situations where i had to push and quickly put it in gear :/
@green2stroke i have no idea, it doesnt bog or anything, the guy tht sold it to me gave me a complete list of what it has, technically oil mod, exhaust and air filter which are aftermarket, i recomend the bike the way it is, everyone recommends oil mod and zip tie, all i know is that i changed the coolant seals cus it was leaking and tuned the carby, and camshaft chain. i am having trouble with the charging system, they say you have to leave the lights in the ON position to charge, but mine
@green2stroke yes, i love it, i was disapointed in the beggining cuz i got it used and had to change coolant bearings and seals (which u should do in any yfz) and the camshaft chain, cuz it was how do u say it, wasted??? well it was very stiff and there was one link damaged but i changed it and i have about 2-3h with the new chain, clean carb and the thing wheelies in 3rd and maybe in 4rth gear, but its too fast to try LOL the thumb throttle is kinda stiff but i dont find that inconvenient :)
