Contradiction of Government Spending - Austerity and War
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed dnem
The contradiction of government spending on austerity versus war highlights a perplexing dichotomy in fiscal policy. Austerity measures typically involve reducing public expenditures to decrease budget deficits, often resulting in cutbacks to social programs and public services. Conversely, wartime spending sees a dramatic surge in government outlays, justified by national security imperatives....

    Lloyd is a strong voice for the oppressed peoples against the murderers in the middle east isn't he? However. Although not sure I support his comments about the day of the arrival of the saviour! We are under attack from Jihad! oppressed peoples. Surely we're better than that? Our culture's are so different. The way I see it. The way to bring the left and right together is to build more houses. Where's the march for social housing?

  • @scotlandthebrave334

    Great story about him sticking £500 on Jim Sillars in the Govan by-election. There's no one of the calibre like the guys of his generation. Disappointed to hear about All Under One Banner cancelling their Edinburgh march 'to make a stand.' How dare they? And where's the march for social housing in Scotland? Why don't they make a stand on Independence? Shambles.

    I disagree with the panel consensus for not joining the Demonstration against racism planned with the 7th of September and can't see how your agreement against turning up and showing solidarity holds any logic. At 16-00mins Phil talks about how marches and placards are pointless, yet the next sentence talks of the need for boots on the ground? We need huge numbers at the demo against racism with many Scottish white faces in the crowd as we can to show solidarity with our ethnic minorities, who in Scotland are even more of a minority than other places in the UK. What message will it send if no one turns up against the fascists? How welcome will our non-white brothers and sisters feel in Scotland if they these thugs turn up and are not challenged in huge numbers? We should not be afraid or intimidated from making a stand and telling those with racist attitudes that they are the ones that are not welcome. AS ENGLAND HAS RECENTLY SUCCESSFULLY DONE. It is all about looking after our own and that includes everyone who lives in Scotland. And we don't need to get dirty or catch fleas to do so. Under one banner have called it correct. You are failing to address reality for what it is. Some fights you cannot choose. At 25-07mins Barrheadboy talks about satires and brown faces being targets. Well we can hide our saltires, but folk cannot change the colour of their skin. Then you go on to talk about unity........😡

    • @metabilis
      @metabilis Před 2 dny

      All excellent points & I totally agree. In my view urging people not to go is the behaviour of scabs, I'm disgusted & certainly won't have anything to do with TASP again. The panelists clearly don't know the meaning of the word Solidarity. Ironic they're often wittering on about so so called 'unity'.

    Independence first and last and always. Condolences to Iain Lawson's family and friends. A huge loss to the independence cause, but let's remember he made his mark, and leaves the challenge to the rest of us to match the impact he made. Completely agree that AUOB should stick to protesting independence, and not get drawn into anything else. The SNP deciding to get into the UK's Brexit argument instead of fighting Scotland's cause on the basis of Brexit is the biggest example of this. Independence first.

    Why has Scots politicians not decided to go over to Nagasaki to Represent Scotland? We weren't even asked if boycotting Nagasaki was what we wanted. Israel is committing GENOCIDE & UN now considers them war criminals. Why would Japan want such a country to attend the commemoration, given Israel's behaviour may result in Nagasaki being repeated? Fact is - in this 'so called democracy of UK' Scotland, Wales & NI haven't even been asked whether we support their stand or not. And Starmer doesn't speak for me. And from what I can gather on social media, he doesn't speak for Scotland. Soooo... why aren't our ELECTED MSPs making their own choices & working as though they are already INDEPENDENT? Instead they're having their wee Brownie Pow-wow to talk about England's racist riots. These people want elected in two years! What FOOLS those MSPs are!

      Sums up the current SNP,our national party,taken over by the Globalists! Any SNP candidate wanting to be run from Davos or their subsidiary,Brussels, should be either ousted,or banned from standing! A year past May, I went up to Willie McRae's cairn for his 100th birthday, not a single one of those plastic nationalists turned up,not one...the movement is just getting used as a vehicle for a Socialists wet dream, this should be about Scotland, not what the WEF/UN and the EU want!

    @SallyMoore1000 Před 5 dny

    Sorry but independence for Scotland takes second place just now. Stopping the genocide is my first priority. Scottish independence is important but to say we focus on that to the exclusion of other issues is just plain wrong. Let's face it, we're not going to get independence just now, through no fault of our own. I don't agree with the anti-racism march event conflicting with the OAUB one. But the genocide is ongoing in Palestine, it's worse atrocities every single day. Yesterday and last week the most heinous. You/we should not sideline Palestine. It's the same colonialist issue. But we are not (yet) getting exterminated. Nelson Mandela supported Palestine and said the oppression of the Palestinians is worse than that of the South Africans, and that none of us are free till all of us are free. We should espouse the Palestinian cause as central to our own struggle. Eva's statement is both wrong and racist. Yesterday I attended the weekly protest in Glasgow for Palestine, and I will do so every saturday till we get a ceasefire and very probably beyond, until Palestine is free.

    • @SallyMoore1000
      @SallyMoore1000 Před 5 dny

      To clarify in case my comment gets misinterpreted. The anti-racism march (which is distinct from the Palestine solidarity protest) should not have been organised for the same day as the AUOB march. If I could (and do where possible), I would always attend the AUOB marches, at the moment as part of the Palestine solidarity bloc. The two anti-colonialist movements are inseparable as far as I'm concerned.

    • @allanalba
      @allanalba Před 5 dny

      Without Independence we cannot address ANY of the other issues,

    • @Kate-nt6bj
      @Kate-nt6bj Před 5 dny

      It's more than possible to do both. And necessary to do both. Because unless we get Independence, we can do absolutely ZERO about the Palestinian issue. English labour are well in USA/Israeli pockets and colonialist Scotland's views will never, EVER be listened to. Labour have only just been elected so even voting them out is impossible for the next five years. So the best we can do is get Independence & then decide what we, as an Independence country, want to do iabout the Palestinian issue. So I promote BOTH issues on Twitter (or X or whatever you want to call it). I'm actually quite good at multi-tasking. 😉

    • @williamrae9954
