BNSF Bakersfield Sub Railfanning! ~ Feat. Warbonnets, H1, Unusual Amtrak, Horn Shows, and MORE!
Here is another video of railfanning during summer 2022 along the BNSF Bakersfield Subdivision. This video has a lot of goodies shows with lots of warbonnets making an appearance. There was even a warbonnet, BNSF 724, leading a loaded grain train! There was also an Amtrak San Joaquins train that a completely dead Siemens SC-44 locomotive so they had to add a trusty F59PHI on the point to lead the train eastbound to supply power and HEP to the train. That was a rare sighting for sure! I also got to see some of my Amtrak buddies and they sure do know how to put on a horn show! A notable catch is the NPCU cabbage leading an eastbound Amtrak San Joaquins train as they are coming into their final stop of Bakersfield, CA. Lots of good stuff in this video, so enjoy!

Back in December of 2022, a quite unusual BNSF grain train made an appearance through the Tehachapi mountains as it was making its way to a grain industry in Guernsey, CA along the BNSF Bakersfield Sub. I start off by seeing a couple trains around the Bakersfield area. I then make my way out to the UP tracks to see the northbound ZLCLT that had a SP patch locomotive, UP 6318, as well as a NS DPU! For part 2 of my trip to Cajon Pass, we pick up at the Mormon Rocks where I was greeted by a UP intermodal heading down the hill.
