MY PRIUS IS BETTER IN SO MANY WAYS HYUNDAI IONIQ FEELS LIKE A MAJOR DOWN GRADE MORE COMPLICATED POWER TRAIN THAN A PRIUS
Nice walk through thanks. I'm trying to compare this lamp with the Aqara T1M for a bedroom. I'm a huge Govee fan and their lights integrate quite well with Home Assistant. Just a tip on installation, you can use a cable tie or a bit of old wire to make a hanger for the light while you connect it up. Gives you both hands free.
In the heat of the moment, thinking rationally isn't my strong point! But a good tip for when I do the next one! Have to be honest, I am wondering if the Aqara might be better for some folk if they are looking for bright light in the colors, instead of just white... Might see about picking one up to try out! If you have both, I'd certainly love to hear your views on them!
I have no power socket in my garden so where would you actually plug it in to turn it on.
You need to get an external plug socket into your garden first, as that is what I had to do. After that, it's a case of working out the location where you want to place the lights and then getting a power point close to that area, which I did with an extension cable and another external box to house the 4-way power brick. From there I could plug the Govee lights in. You can see the external box in the video. But, the power aspect for any lighting in a garden is always the one thing many people overlook!
hi! i just installed this lamp, but i used the white connector that you showed in the video instead of the clamps that came with the lamp. my lamp isn’t working and now i’m wondering whether it’s broken or i NEED to use the clamps instead of the white connector? any help would be appreciated ^^
@@vanillacupkid the clamps are for joining your existing wires and you must make sure you connected the right ones. I sealed off the earth wire as it is not used in my setup, but is importantly in anything electrical to follow the colour codes exactly. As I have no idea what you have done and how you have done it, I’d suggest a quick chat with Govee and see what they can do to help!!
@@TechRealityGlasgow i connected everything correctly and the same way you did, i only kept the white connector that you removed and used it instead of the clamps that came with the lamp… i know the white one is kind of an „old“ connector for the wires and i’m wondering whether it’d make a difference if i took it off and used the clams and cap instead
@@vanillacupkid I really think you should as that is the correct way to do this, the clips are just a pass through.
@@TechRealityGlasgow i think i’ll try doing that, thanks for the help!! wish me luck that it works and isn’t broken 🥴
@@vanillacupkid did you get it to work?
Hey, does the ceiling light synchronize With pc gaming or tv watching? Like if the screen is yellow, does the lamp turn yellow too?
It’s quite brilliant actually !
Carpainter hear! If you launch any type of projectile at any type of vehicle finish it's going to ding! or chip a chunk out off it. Don't blame the manufacturers. it's not bullet proof. 😂you did a good job, luckily it was a white car,and not a metallic silver, etc.looks nice, well done.
Showing my age here.. but... back in the day (cough), paint on cars seemed to be about 1 inch thick and bricks would appear to just bounce off it and be scruff-free! Nowadays, it feels like the paint is 1 micron thick and a flea coughing makes chunks fall off :) Mind you it could also be my driving style :) - Thanks for the comment!
Great now how do I start the car
@@Cerdariouspress the 12v reset button and that worked for me.
I just bought two of these lights. Instructions were nowhere near as easy to follow as this video. Thanks for the content!
@@champieyunn appreciate the feedback, and hope you get a lot of fun out of the lights!!
Hello, can I turn on the light with the classic switch on the wall? Or do I have to use the application? Thanks
I have a normal light switch, walk into the room and turn it on. It retains the last setting you had the light on, so you need to use the app to change it if you want something different.
Thanks for making this video. Is the stand heavy enough to be able to pull the phone off the magnets without the stand moving?
The answer is... YES and NO! It all boils down to the way you try and remove the phone. If you try and pull the phone straight off it towards you then the stand comes with it, unless you hold the base as you tug it off, and being honest that is the most instinctive way for it to work with me. But... if you grab your phone and twist it clockwise or counterclockwise it seems to come off and the stand stays still. I still think you would instinctively hold the base as you grab the phone, but open to being proved wrong on this! Thanks for the input!
@@TechRealityGlasgow Thanks for the quick response. I have the Belkin BoostUp Charge Pro 3-in-1 and it’s similar. If I pull it straight, the unit will move but if I kind of pry the phone off my tilting it before pulling then it works fine. You get used to it. Sounds like it’s the same technique for this one. Thanks!
Gorgeous! Thank you so much!
Excellent review on this! Ill likely buy one - quick Q. Is it bright enough to light up the entire room on its own?
When I have this on White I have to drop the brightness, but with colours it does drop down quite a fair bit, but you will need to play around with this to get the exact colour and brightness to suit your needs.
Now, I know what unifi camera I will probably buy for my house. The night vision is decent and the day time is excellent.
The camera is still running away here, 24/7 and I have just added another camera to get more footage when I can. Thanks for the comment!
@@TechRealityGlasgow They say the G5 flex is better. But, after seeing the footage day and knight I still think if I go with the unifi G3 flex I cannot go too wrong.
Sir you are a star, we were stranded on the 4th of July and everything was closed. This method was simple and efficient. Thank you!!
Thanks for the feedback, very much appreciated, and hopefully things went well after you got back into the car!
Is there a cct mode which automatically swich the light temperature dure to the time?
The only way that I can see to do this (and I'm aware I am probably missing an easier way to do this) is by setting an automation schedule, which I tested out by setting a date range, adding time points, and at each time point, I set a brightness, colour temperature, and colour change to happen. I think though, what you would like to be a way to set a time range and from time (a) to time (b) have a brightness and colour range automatically happen? For that, I could not find a way of doing it, but that does not mean there isn't a way! I'll poke around the support forum and see if anything comes up that might help.
I have a dimmer that currently controls my light, will it work the same when I install this light?
An external dimmer switch cannot be used with this. The manual online states this. External Dimmer cannot be used with this product. Only use the control provided with or specified by these instructions to control this lamp. PAGE 01 of the manual from: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0512/3489/8105/files/H60A1.pdf
@@TechRealityGlasgow Oh so I'd have to switch to a non-dimmable switch?
@@VortexGaming007 Looks that way I’m afraid. It’s pretty clear in the instructions in that link I posted I’m afraid.
But does it work with dream view?
Works perfectly with Dreamview!
@@TechRealityGlasgow great because my whole room is Dreamview all day every day and I just ordered the light!!
@@deairreoh I just ran the Govee app there and linked in the Ceiling light and the Glide Y Lights there... simple!
@@TechRealityGlasgow I’m running all my lights from my Govee lite 3 on my tv, this will basically be above my tv , I can’t wait !
@@deairreoh I think you will be more than happy with this! All I need to do now is open my boxes of Y lights up and install them! Let me know how you feel about the light!
Legend 👍🏽
you need a scalpel and a soldering iron, I fixed mine, the problem is : the led strip inside the rubber cover is in multiple parts, and they are soldered, and at least one of the soldering points is broken
Hey! Thanks for the information, I might be brave and have a look at doing the same to mine at some point.
if you press your finger on the rubber cover where the light stops, you will be able to find the location of the faulty soldering point, then you'll have to cut the strip with a sharp razor blade so you can close it with one or two drops of glue
my strip has a black base, the sticky part, I'm not sure about yours, but you want to cut the line between black and white colors, horizontal cut, don't make vertical cuts
Just ordered this upgraded version after watching your video. Now wondering as to where to install the older version 😇
I had the older version (before it decided to die) just at the edge of my house, and it lit if the brickwork very subtly and looked really neat! I just need to figure out if this faulty unit can actually be repaired or not! Thanks for the comment!
Nice video! Do you know if the integration with Alexa enables you to change the brightness/colors of the light or just turns it on/off?
I can ask Alexa for "Ceiling Light DIM" and it decreases the brightness in stages, and I can ask Alexa for "Ceiling Light BRIGHT" to increase the brightness. Works well! Same for colours, just ask it to change to a particular colour and it does that as well.
nice :)
You know you need one 🥸😂
Why my xps 8930 doesn't sound loud.. and the Cpu is locked on 3.19ghz I have an i7 8700 not turbo boost on bios... showing .. either
As I had this issue 5 years ago, I would assume that the computer you have has had improvements done to reduce the noise levels, which is good!
nice video!!
Thanks for the visit!
Thanks for the video! It was the only video I could find talking about the monitor stand by KD Essentials. The price is very low on Amazon right now, and I wasn't sure about the quality, but now I can see it's pretty good!
Have to say, it's really sturdy and I have zero regrets buying this!
exact same issue here
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Helped me to get in the car and release the hood when my 12v battery was down. I don’t have that 12v button in my Ioniq. What does it do? Because I don’t take it charges the battery, does it? By the way, in my naivety I first thought the 28 Kw/h battery would automatically charge the 12v battery. Apperently it doesn’t. I have to change the 12v battery about every two years.
I'm so happy that this helped you out! Pressing the button closes the relay providing power again to the 12-volt system from the 12-volt battery (allowing you to "start" the car). The traction battery is not involved until the car is "on" and will now charge the battery until the car is "off". More details can be found here! www.ioniqforum.com/threads/12-volt-battery-reset-button.34296/#:~:text=Pressing%20the%20button%20closes%20the,the%20car%20is%20%22off%22.
@@TechRealityGlasgow Thanks for your answer and link. Do you mean that the 28kw/h battery charges the 12v battery when the car is on? So it actually acts as an alternator?
I believe that's what it is doing, but I don't understand why it would appear to be discharged unless the car was off and just running stuff off of battery only. I have now changed to the new Kona Hybrid, and it will be interesting to see if this car experiences the same issues! @@queenandi5834
@@TechRealityGlasgow My experience here (Aruba, the Caribbean) has always been that I have to replace the 12v battery about every two years because it is empty. Also with my previous ICE cars. Maybe it's because of the humid tropical climate. And Aruba is a small island so you only drive short distances. With always a/c on.
In Scotland, we have a lot of rain, cold and damp and very limited sunshine throughout the year, so maybe there is a benefit of that sort of weather over having high humidity. (Give me sunshine and heat anytime!!) @@queenandi5834
Thanks: You sade us.
Thank you
Thanks for nice video
Absolute lifesaver! While my car doesn't have the battery button I can at least get in my car!
Once you do it, you tend to think... THAT"S IT! :) Glad it helped!
well, after using this computer for a few years, I have ordered the better heatsink from chinese website. It got a lot better, but if u want it not noisy when gaming, limit CPU under 3.9GHz.
Tapped the plug unit on wood block about 6 times and fixed the unit. Was about to fix 5 of my 6 bad units. Note it takes 5-10 sec for unit to warm up.
Yes, the start time can take a bit longer than you would expect... I'm glad you managed to knock some sense back into your items!
Thank you❤
hey,like it- outstanding picture. goodbye~))
Thanks! Love the Drone stuff on your CZcams Channel!
I have the same tower and replaced to the upgraded fan and heatsink. I also replaced my top case fan there in front of the new heatsink but its super loud. Ive tried a 120mm and 140mm. I think the original top fan was 80mm or 92mm. But whrn gaming its stupid loud. Surfing the net nothing. But gaming loud loud loud on top fan. I have a i9-9900kf and 3080 gpu.
Thank you so much for this video! Husband had some really important meetings he couldn’t miss today and we were in a panic when his FOB up and died, mine died a while ago so we just both used his. He had a digital copy of the manual but I just knew someone out here would have this up! Quick and to the point. I didn’t watch the video in full so I didn’t see the part about the alarm, I panicked 😂 But we got it sorted. Getting new batteries (and backups) for both our FOBs today! And yeah, the design to get to the manual open is just dumb 😒 I kind of get it to mess with thieves but when you’re in a rush, no one has time to fiddle with that thing. And getting it back on is a headache. I hope it doesn’t fall off on his drive to work 😣
That area of my Ioniq (intense blue) is covered in ships and rash, my car has only covered 18k miles. I've ordered a Chipex kit so hopefully I can make it at least better.
White is the saviour for chips.. it just hides them much easier! I used to always go for a non-white car but the chips used to drive me crazy!!!! Touch wood the paint helps you out!
@@TechRealityGlasgow I completely agree. Metallic blue or black is scratched and chipped so easily. I can't imagine what my car will be like after 100k.
@@benellis7427 I would love to know how you get on with the touch up kit you get!
Finally someone doing a proper job of it
Hi, got the new version of this switch, plugged my router in and ran a cable to my bedroom, getting 900mb . Recently ran a cable to my son's room, SP4, smart tv . Tested the cable i ran coming from the switch before connecting too another 4 port gigabit switch and only getting about 98mb .Help! Its about a 16meter cable run. Thanks
What 4 port switch did you go for and what speed? It's wouldn't happen to be a 10/100 switch by any chance? If not, then check the cable and compare speeds afterwards.
That little space yours sticking the key into, isn't a key hole. That's the light. Your door handles illuminate when you press the unlock tab on your fob
Sorry, you are incorrect. The light is in fact within the handle section that you press and hold to open the door, this section is only to cover the keyhole.
How did you get the piece out that covers the hole where you stick your key in to pop off the cover? That's a key part in this i feel.
THere isn't anything covering the hole at all. That's how all the cars look.
@@TechRealityGlasgow so i went to mine and there's something covering the hole so that I can't insert my key to pop the cover off.
@@BananaJonesMom that’s weird! Check the other few videos out there doing the same on their ioniq and they all have the small notch. You sure it’s not been covered by something or someone??? Care to post a photo???
@@TechRealityGlasgow I'll try to post a photo.
I have many of these remote power sockets on machinery in a workshop. recently I have been having a problem with false triggers. ? opening up workshop to find machinery working. On one ocasion I discovered a dust extractor had been running for hours. Has anyone else had the same issue ? How wide is the radio band connection on these devices ? what other radio devices send a signal close to the band that triggers these remote sockets ?. I now have to go around the workshop at night and switch off the switch on the power socket itself. Any help would be apreciated. Does anyone know of remote sockets that work on a more secure narrow band ?
started looking for something like this that isn't bluetooth/wi-fi/etc. do you know/remember what the actual protocol from the switch to strip uses? i haven't been able to find on belkin site or google search and your video is one of the top results 😅
I would have to find the plug and remote unit that is in a box in the loft now :) - All I do know is that the unit links to the controller via wifi, and has nothing to do with any other wifi you have in your room. There are dip switches to set the channel for it to connect to. Have a read at the full manual over here: www.belkin.com/support-article/?articleNum=2504
I have the same with my Govee light strip when it’s connected to Eve energy but off. If I cut the power completely with the Eve energy the blue light section turns off. Very odd.
I contacted Govee who replaced the unit. IT's very weird that it has powered off, but a small section is still trickling power... that I did find a but worrying! Contact Govee and they will help you out fast!
@@TechRealityGlasgow I have it from Amazon. I don’t want to send it back. I’ll leave it as it is. I’m fine with it but glad you got it replaced. The Govee lights are awesome, just wish I could use Apple Home with the lights.
@@cdmcgillion I just received a replacement and did not have to send this one back!!! I would speak to them and see what can be done.

@@jesusk0965 When I have emailed them I usually get a response pretty quickly! Touch wood they get back to you today!
I know this is a old video and you got rid of the switch but did that fan noise ever quiet down?😅
Actually.... NO! :) and the unit has been decommissioned and some Uni switches put in place! Still a good switch if you can place it away from everyone in an office.....
Was yours GS1900-48HPV2 or the V1? Trying to put this in a home office but don't fancy listening to a jet from the next room. The video makes it seem really bad!
@@billyy999 Probably a V1 but honestly, don't think about placing this into an office area with people working, or a strange psychosis will take over with the whirring rattling their brains! :) There are better switches out there now that will be way quieter, but then they do tend to come at a cost!
