WOW! that last run was stunning. The 'Oriental' sound is, to me, a mourning or keening sound that is crying out for his sinful passion. Projects such a feeling of loss. Try Ogni Pietra and be sure to get the best audio and video. His gestures in this performance are dramatic, the song is an epoch anthem, and it is fully operatic.

Whilst some other reactors to Dimash are funny - falling off chairs, screaming etc 😵...I appreciate the calm reactions too, especially when balanced with knowledgeable commentary. Thank you! 🤗 His voice has matured considerably since Singer 2017, and this is a wonderful demonstration of his skills. I agree he is really going to make his mark in Popera, and soon I hope! Dimash literally changes the technique, the voice and the extract the sound in every phrase. In the middle of the song he uses vocal technique from the folklore of some asian regions, a kind of throat vibrato. Thank you for presenting this song! This is one of the peaks of Dimash's vocal mastery.

Every song will be accompanied by ice skaters.🌺
A week before that, on Oct 26, 2019, 💖Dimash 💖and a host of other singers will be performing in another Krutoy concert 🎹🎻🎶to be held at The Barclays Center (newer than Madison Square Garden and almost as large) in Brooklyn, New York.🌺

Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

The man standing up to clap in the first row is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer who started working with Dimash later and many of Dimash new songs are his. After a few amazing covers of older songs (Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, Love is Like a Dream), he wrote one especially for him to sing at the opening of the European Games last month. It's more operatic than the rest and demonstrates the real power his voice has. Love your reaction. This was done when he was about 23. Now he is 25 and we Dears would like you to react to his latest performance of Igni Pietra from his last concert in June. The best video out there right now seems to be Celebrity BG which has subtitles. I thought Dimash48 was the best, but have changed my mine on that. We Dears will follow you on this journey.

I very much enjoyed your reaction and comments! That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. This particular one was based on an Irkutsk folk style. Further youtubers have commented that it is used some parts of the Middle East. It is also referred to as a "glottal stop" and used in English when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.

Dimash is not human, we already know that:))) He always surprise us with each song, and beside his vocal and story tellers capabilities you never know what he is going to do next in a song. That makes him unique, as in almost all other singers we know the direction of the songs :))) Nice reaction ( I have seen almost ALL Dimash reactors), keep going , and always watch his performances with subtitles. That makes feelings even more intense. Which ever song you choose, it will be amazing.

Hi Balanced Singer. A very thoughtful and insightful review. Wish you would follow Dimash's journey on the Chinese show The Singer2017. He was only 22 and a totally unknown outside of Kazakstan, his native country. There are 13 episodes, the next being Opera2. Di did not speak Mandarin Chinese or English so all those performances were learned phonetically in a week's time. Quite impressive! On the East European/Middle Eastern/West Asian style he did, while the beginning portion involved changing registers, the rest of it involved playing around with a sort of a "machine gun"-like effect. E.g., if you were to try to mimic a machine gun noise just with your throat and chest (not using your lips and tongue), this is what is happening here. Sort of like laughing with a fast cackle just with the throat and chest. So, the first portion is similar to how a yodel would be performed, but the faster portion is quick "machine-gunning" with the throat and chest.
