How to fix squeaky floors from above? Use bFix squeaky floors - 10 Tips & Tricks (Wood & carpeted floors)reakaway screws in the squeaky areas to eliminate the annoying sound. In most instances you won’t be able to use shims to prevent the wood from deflecting so experts recommend breakaway screws as the best, cheapest alternative- that gets the job done! - Jak na to + styl
This was really good!
Thank you for sharing honey!
Nice job and inexpensive
Thank You
Love this will be buying this
Thanks. It really works wonders and the noise is gone!
You might want to mention that you need to screw into your floor support beams.
Or how to find them.
I recommend using a putty knife for the filler. You will use much less per hole to fill, and it will apply the filler much better.
If you have unfinished basement, it’s a lot cheaper and easy to just put glue between the gaps and add a 2x4 for support on the squeak area
I've put about 80 of these into the bedroom to fix 90% of squeaks. One suggestion .... DO NOT hold the black thing while you're driving in the screw. My driver slipped and cut my nail pretty badly. 4 weeks later, finger still shows the damage done.
I hope you're doing better by now! Thank you for the tip, I appreciate it!
Will this work in laminated floor? I like this product as the installer did not put screws in the floor to eliminate squeak before they installed the laminated flooring.
Could you tell where the holes are after filling the holes?
Can you drill into vinyl planks or is this just made for wood flooring?
Can this be used on laminate flooring?
Demo was good..
You didn't show what you used to colour in floor
I have to do my hallway from my living room to my kitchen but how do I find the Joist underneath the wood floor
How do you know where to drill? Does it supposed to drill to the joist?
@@BlondieSL You don't need to use the floor joist necessarily. If the screw just keeps spinning, take it out and use the other hole on that black guide piece. The fat part of the bit driver will stop the screw from going in too far and then you use the opposite side of the black guide to fit over the screw head and snap it off.
Will the floors start sqeeking again after a few years? I heard that the threads is not enough to hold down the floors after many steps...normally the screw head is what keeps the floor down..not the screw threads??? Does anyone know?
Dont try this at home u never no if there is electric wire or gas pipes etc
Will this help to bulking wood
It is at 4:20 in the video. DAP plastic wood filler. I brought a sample of my wood floor to the store to color match.
@@diyhomeownerhero5250 That filler does not match color. You said once it dries you have a marker to make an exact match. Please show that. It would be nice to see the fully finished result at the end where the color matches exactly.
@@JimSterken The marker was a furniture marker that matched the wood color. It was in the same isle as the putty.
Why do you use the guide when drilling the hole? does it need to be done that way?
I have plywood and chipboard floor in my rented apartment. It’s creaking all over the place. Can’t imagine I’ll have any luck with this kit.
If you find a joist it will work
How long is the drill bit, is it come with the package
It did not come with the package. 1/8" drill bit
@@diyhomeownerhero5250 how long not how wide, ballboy kwan you just want to make sure it goes down about as far as the screw will into the floor and you'll be good to go.
I'll show you how to make sure the screws aren't noticable. At the end. Don't put screws too close together or you be able to tell.
You didn't show what you used to color in floor as a finished product. That is the 2nd most important part of this whole job. I will not use this yet b/c I am not sure how well it blends in with the grain. Just sayin.
Lol. Have fun drilling into mains pipes and cables
There are none under my floor boards. I said to do it safely in the video, which includes checking the area first.
WTF is a fifth of an inch?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
20% of an inch
Don't waste your money that's not how professionals do it
Joe Schneider, how do the professionals do it?
@@greatfuliam412 would find a joist and put a finish nail in it if you don't find a joist you're wasting your time
How stupid not to check whats under the floorboards first! DON'T DO WHAT THIS GUY IS DOING BEFORE CHECKING
