I still can't understand the complete silence. What, we got a Direct last Semptember, right? And after that dead silence. The Switch is quite specific, and it being Nintendo's only console for this long is very weird.
it really isn't when you remember that they got rid of their dedicated handheld division. Instead of dividing their efforts between two devices they focus on a single ecosystem not unlike Playstation and Xbox.
You know for the majority there is such a thing as fatigue. Nintendo pumped out a 2d Mario, 3d Zelda, Mario movie , Metroid, pikmin 4 and so much else . I think it’s ok to let the public just have a break
Also to note the gaming industry for a few years now, especially recently is going through some unique changes
They better have some heavy hitters next direct to make up for the silence.

I personally think there’s something to the name switch attach, Personally, think those magnetic attachments might be more than just joycons
I think that a better name would be simply "Nintendo attach" because it's not a switch anymore
@@JoshuaGraham-jj2mhBased on everything we know, the next console is going to be based heavily on the Switch due to how successful it’s been. I doubt they would abandon the Switch branding they’ve built up, so to me it seems more likely that they would keep the Switch name and add a subtitle for the successor. Still part of the Switch series, but a big new entry.
It does slightly concern me though, because we know from the Wii U that it was often confused for an accessory or soft upgrade instead of a completely new console. I can’t imagine Nintendo would want to make the same mistake again, so we’ll see.

Hear me out. The new JoyCon is gonna be the Apple Pencil 3, and Switch Attach is revealed in next week's Apple event.
Attach is their name for a wireless video feed standard that can flip and wobble in virtual space like Mode 7, made viable and lag-free with DLSS. It's same kind of deal as they gave up on with Sony-Phillips optical disc, giving rise to Playstation.
The new Switch will have a curved edge with a magnetic rail, that you can slide the Pen across while it recognizes it's location, like a steering wheel. You can also press and tilt the controller to activate the metallic buttons keeping it attached. It'll launch with a Mario Kart AR game and a new Art Academy like Tilt Brush, with character creation. I mean VRChat, but social messaging is still limited.
The console will attach wirelessly to an HDMI dongle for a pretty subpar experience capped at 1080p and lags. New TV's will start rolling out that support this Attach feature with their own brand names.

Hybrid is definitely the way they will go for the foreseeable future. I would be shocked otherwise. They can do things like the Switch Lite or even like a separate VR setup but the main focus will be hybrid most likely.
the nintendo switch lite was a handheld if I remember correctly. So, I see nintendo making handhelds as a smaller version of the hybrid.
Of course Hybrid is Best. Sales proven.
It's like going from an filament Lightbulb to a high Performance LED and thinking of going back if they do. Which of course they won't for the forseeable future if ever again, Nintendo is about fun everywhere and that means Portability, not being leashed and trapped indoors by a wall socket power cable.

LCD Lower Storage Switch 2 - prob $400 (just a little bit more than OLED Switch 1)
OLED High Storage Switch 2 - $450-$500ish
But Nintendo had shown Breath of the Wild long before the Switch. So could Nintendo show a game that ends up on the Switch 2 without showing the Switch 2? Hmmm.

I know Charles Martinet has retired as the voice of Mario but he can still be the voice of Mario in some of the Mario games for Switch 2 at its launch year, he could possibly have recorded voice lines for the rumored 3D Mario game for Switch 2 before he retired? Anyone else have thoughts about this?

just listened to Nate the Hate new podcast episode and I agree with what he said if Nintendo says nothing on next gen within the next few months then that rumoured March 2025 release is not happening and unfortunately we are stuck waiting even longer
Which is ridiculous, to be honest. In my humble opinion, Nintendo is already too late, the Switch is obsolete at this point.

@@randyrrs7028Being a little more behind in terms of power at this point won't be as big of a deal. We're at a point of diminishing returns. PS5 games being released on the PS4 is the best example.
I think Samsung won out on the display contract by lowering the cost to be competitive with LCD. Likely on a contract where they'd make higher margins on other components they'd provide.
If they had locked down March 2017 by April of 2016 for the original Switch then certainly they can tell us the launch month. Midori said March was a firm date so that's something to go on. I thought March of this year was realistic and was hoping for that Jan reveal that never happened. If they give us a codename of NX2 I guess they're calling it Switch 2 haha.

Yep, seeing the Switch 1 roll into 2025 as it is with its already over decade old hardware is beyond extreme and wild, even by Nintendos standards. I know it is their most Powerful and Successful ever,, but tech has advanced more quicker than ever too and they're neither releasing the AAA games nor taking opportuinising on the cheaper tech to bring the Switch '2' out earlier either. Im sure they have something Great in tne pipeline but for now at Face value its just sitting on banknotes.

Nintendo didn't confirm or announced anything on the switch 2 console yet. Due to the rumors from multiple sources pointing to the switch 2 being pushed to early next year or later next year. I'm taking anything switch 2 related leaks and rumors like a grain of salt 🧂 Andres.
The 3rd parties are going to carry. The possibility of cod, gta and many others will put the new switch on the map
Nintendo can drop switch 2 in 2024 and release Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title and switch 2 going to be backwards compatible with switch games we can play it on switch 2

Nintendo could launch the system in Japan and North America in 2024 and the rest of the world gets it in March 2025. Wouldn't be the first times other countries have to wait for a new system.

Samsung does make non-OLED panels.
But there are also rumors that Sharp has already supplied Nintendo with 8-inch lcd panels.
To my knowledge, the most recently corroborated Samsung rumors are about the flash memory, carts, and maybe the SOC fabrication.

OLED is not better overall. It's only better in the area of higher brightness and contrast. In all other ways it's worse.

Nah, he just uses vague, indirect, nonspecific words in case his "predictions" are wrong so he can later claim he was never wrong, and thereby, attempting to build a reputation for accuracy. However, basing it off of rumors is foolish, because the risk is high, and the reward is only high when you make bold, specific claims without saying "I may be wrong, but..."
