- Hi! I'm really excited to share what I got my kids for Christmas this year! Every year I say, "we're not gonna go crazy," but somehow I end up with what seems like a room full of gifts. I'm really trying to reduce the clutter in our house and not just buy a bunch of things just for the sake of buying them or just because they were on sale. This year I decided to really and truly stick to a 6 gift limit of something they want, need, wear, read, make and something from Santa. I had to be really intentional about our Christmas gifts, as well as stay on a budget - I was able to do both! And the best part, I think this year will be just as great as any other year!

I always got a pair of slippers like that when we lived in Michigan because I lived in my slippers all winter long. It's nice when you can find a book series that they love! My family has Codenames and that's a popular favorite for family game nights.

We are huge Bluey fans tooooo! It’s such a fun show. I’m wish there was even more Bluey stuff on the market.
I felt like there wasn’t a huge selection and a lot of it was priced high!
We did 6 gifts this year as well. Want, need, wear, create (craft), do (open ended activity), and play (game)

Love these gifts! This is the first year we stuck to our budget and finished all our shopping by black friday! Best way to save some cash.
Also, your dog sounds adorable. I actually thought it was my dog for a minute because he barks to come back inside. I was looking for him out the window.

Every year I say "I'm going to stick to a budget" (I have 4 kids), and do I do that? Nope lol. My kids have like 25 gifts each lol...Do I feel bad....NOPE! You do you boo :)

The boy who won one of those baking shows actually is for my town and his parents bought my son's house.I think that boy has a shed to kitchen in back now...he's booked..and he's just a kid.

I love the categories for your gifts. I think it comes with age. My 8 year old still circles the entire catalog while my 10 year old had 3 things on his list and thats all he has talked about for months. I say it every year but I like the idea of switching to the categories. Are you girls able to pick per category? I guess I am trying to say, do they know the categories and give gift ideas based on those categories?
Ahh good point! I usually just have them narrow down their top items that they really, really want (this was the first year doing this). If I do it this way next year I’ll definitely explain the categories more to them ❤️

Yea last year I got over 20 gifts for my almost 3 year old it was so crazy dumb of me she was over whelmed and only played with 2 things basically so this year Santa is getting her the two things she asked him for and I’m getting her a 300$ ride on jeep she wants and like 5 other things and that’s it and her aunt will get her something but a month after Christmas is her birthday so she will be 4 this February so she will get a few presents for her birthday so I have to remind myself she’s little she doesn’t even ask for anything really besides like 2 things and she has a birthday right after Christmas
8-10 presents is to little including all the family from just mum and dad it’s ok
If you really want to give your kids a gift ,take them shopping ,give them a budget, and let them pick out a gift for a child that may not receive many gifts ..have them donate .. they will remember it more than the things we buy them …❤
As an orphan who never got gifts but helped my aunt pick out gifts for donations, I disagree strongly with this. We are more resentful than anything else.
@@semsem185 not saying don’t buy gifts for your kids but showing them the wonderful gift of giving is a gift in itself and reminds them to be grateful for what they have ,, I’m sorry you’ve had a rough life , I truly am ❤️🤗
