I have this keyboard and a MIDI board... haven't attempted it yet for exactly the reasons you said - getting information is not easy. The board I have is a lot more compact and was prebuilt, but looks very much the same regarding layout for ins and outs.
I was still going to make my MIDI solution an external solution as I'd like to be able to wire it in to a couple of other Casio and Yamaha synths I have with no MIDI functionality. Just need to find the right type of cable with enough wires.
I have seen a few mods for the filter and I quite like the one you've used. Makes an another nice sounding little mono synth even more interesting. I have seen people basically make their version 1 of the CS01 filter behave more like the version 2 board too.

yeah I did think about making an external mod I could just plug in this and other synths but it would require hacking the case for an external connector on all of them and that put me off.
Also, you need to consider resell value. Should you want to sell this synth you'd need to provide the midi mod with it or it'll lower the value ... and then you won't have the midi mod for your other synths . prob best to do the mod internally on each

Hi, great channel; i'm in (t'est francais toi aussi non? vu l'accent). Just found a cs01 for a good bargain, and it has the original box too! plabnning to mod it as well. i recently found those midi muso kits that ofefer midi-to-12 cv or gates (for 25 pounds a piece!). the içdea about the cs 01 would be to catch cv connections at center of pots (sliders) that go to a cv control, and cable them to an externeal connection for each cv in.... then we'lll have the capabilitys to go semi modular and to get our cv's (other then kb) to be controled via midi.... would swear i can do it all quick and easy, i nead to take a better check at the service man (had a look at all of these once or twice in my reaserches) but i'm pretty shure, on a cs01, if i can catch cv input spots, i should be good... Bravo pour la chaine... Oh and just to say, this and a cz1000 are the backbone of basslines and more for bobby digital's digital reggae... Not at the end of the vid yet but in my knowledge on most if not all CS synth, yamaha put 12db/oct filters and i doubt you can get it to ring, oh ok, i'm hearing the result right now.... sounds like the anderton supertone filter on high res.... putain chui trop bavard moi mdr...
c la passion ca, et il ring le filter en fait... Bravo! Et merci pour le coup...
