Hope you liked the guide and have fun trying it out!
Military dictatorship does not turn into a monarchy when the ruler dies. it randomly elects a general when the current ruler dies. You were thinking of the presidential dictatorship.
Ok, my misstake :)
Still wouldn't choose it XD
Yeah there's another event where he tries to crown himself and you can stay a dictatorship. The government trades 10% tax and 50 gov cap for more moral of armies and absolutism. 10% moral of armies from a government is really strong. It's a shame that the rulers Pips don't relate to the general's pips from what I can see. And it rules out a lot of government reforms.
@@chaoticflorius Why wouldnt you take the chad dictatorship tho? You basically get godlike rulers if your army tradition is high, which it should be.
@@ShiftySheriff2 are the ruler stats based on the general’s pips?
@@nathanbean8763 I've tested it with 0 and 100% army tradition using the "die" command to cycle rulers. Average seemed slightly higher with 100 army tradition but it wasnt a huge sample. Plenty of 3 star generals turning into 3/1/1 rulers which wouldnt be as common if it was tied together. Your also losing a lot of mana generation from the re-election options dictatorship locks you out of.
35:12 they want 2 of your allies to be rivalled to each other.
For example, if you were allied to both France & Austria (which is pretty easy as the Italian nations), and had high relations with both of them, then you'd be able to get the mission
Ahhh, ok. Thanks!
You can do Alpine fortifications with Milan which is much easier than with Sardinia-Piedmont and you can get it much earlier. Also having lvl 4 mountain forts protecting your country in 1480 is really strong.
Nice!
Great to see that someone else is really enjoying innovation + quality ideas. The infantry combat ability is just great. Also, what's very overlooked, is stacking advisor cost reduction, starting with innovative ideas. If you do it right, you can just have +3 advisors in all slots all game long.
Absolutly right. Love to do that too. No more mana problems for the rest of the game.
21:50 if you fire the advisors before taking the event, you can still get the 400 mana, without losing the advisors since you can just rehire them immediately.
Yeah, true. Good to know!
Yeah, I was triggered by the action. It is literally the meta to do that if you get the event!
@@IronWolf123 how dare I do not do the mate 100% of the time. DISLIKE AND UNSUBSCRIBE. Literally unwatchable :P
@@chaoticflorius Weid question, but judging on your profile picture, are you Australian?
@@IronWolf123 Good question, I was asking myself the same question too
I personally prefer doing Italy as Saluzzo. It's a rougher start (you can only expand into Savoy or Provence, which usually means waiting and begging for France and Austria to be busy) but once you get rolling, that +10 infantry combat ability and the -15% AE impact makes a BIG difference. Can even for Sardinia-Piedmont naturally, as Saluzzo is Piedmontese in 1444. Strongly recommend keeping Saluzzan ideas the whole time though, as they are on par with end tag Italy's.
Yeah. Saluzzo is soooo strong once you get them rolling. Imagen my ideas + theirs. Would be +25 infantry combat ability. CRAZY.
But personally I find it hard to make a guide around them (maybe a challenge for a later date), especially for beginners, so I choose milan.
If you're trying to avoid the Ambrosia Republic as Milan, just introduce heir at the start of the game before you send out any alliances/RMs. Hopefully you'll get a high-quality heir that's about 10 or so. And you don't have to worry nearly so much about your ruler staying alive for so long.
sounds like a good way to do that
21:48 if you fire both of them before clicking the event, you can get the points, then rehire both of the advisors. Sure, might cost a fair bit money, but it's worth it
Ehhyy, thats sound like a good trade! Thanks for pointing that out.
Mama Mia!!! What a good guide!
hahaha, thanks!
Liked because of editing. Subscribed because of the commentary
Thanks! Good to hear you like it :)
thanks for showing me how to be less awful at the game
hahaha, no problem! EU4 is quiet ... a game 😂
Nicely done! What's the next goal? Booting (heh) the Ottomans from the south?
Lets find out together. Plan on streaming the next part.
Yeah, the Milan guide !
Ehhhyyy!
if you feel like restarting with milan then waiting for the generic estate mission to conquer genoa allows you to declare war on it in december and that speeds up the whole process.... sure its random but its like the first button you can press so easy restart
You are right. I just try to do my guides with the RNG I get.
mamamia Florius, it was a good video
Thanks mate!
I heard somewhere that you can easily vassalize Savoy very early if the Pope excommunicates them near the beginning and you can take them as a vassal without generating a huge coalition. Not sure if it's true or not or if it's actually worth it since you’d still have to wait a bit before doing anything else for the still large amount of ae to go down, and again it's rng if the pope actually excommunicates them or not, I’ve never tested it myself.
Sounds like a strong opener if it works! Thanks for the heads up :)
Yeah it's a great opener for Burgundy or Provence to take them as a vassal
In 1.33 it happened like 90% of the time (they have an event), in 1.34 I haven't seen it even once...
Around minute 6:00 :
When you plan to go to war right after another war don't delete the free company if your manpower is very low.
ok
Savoy is the only answer considering the buffs the mission tree gives
How dare you!
17:15 Debt restructuring is a very reasonable and honest thing. A long time ago I owed quite a bit on a credit card at 25% and then I borrowed money at 8% and paid off my card loans. Not sure there is anything shameful about taking 1% loans to pay off 4% loans, that's just good business practice. :D
true and based
Part of the boot under Ottoman control? You need another video to fix that Florius. Also another video for a Marenostrom... and another after that for a Roman Empire revival.
Hahaha, I guess I owe you that
Austrians trying to dominate Italy...where have I seen that before?
*sweats*
I played forming Italy as Venice. It is easier, faster and you can even get your hands on Ottoman lands and absolutely crush them if you vassalize Byzantium right at the start.
Thats true, Venice is very strong (otehrwise I wouldn't have cried while fighting them). I just like the Milan gameplay and government form more. Its all subjective at the end.
Great campaign... but need to see Ottomans beaten out of Italy :).
hahaha, plan on it
Tip for the Radical Reforms event, if you want to keep the advisors just sack them from their position but don't fire them from your court, and after clicking the mana option that fires them, you can put them back in their positions.
Thanks for letting me know mate!
@@chaoticflorius no probs, brother
I disagree that Milan the"BEST Nation To Unite Italy With" in my option that title goes to Saluzzo whilst small they pack a of a punch with 10% infantry combat ability as well as −15% Aggressive expansion impact! which new player will enjoy painting with and the good ideas do not stop coming with +10% Goods produced modifier, +10% Morale of armies and more. I also find often in this new patch find get France as early friend not to hard to get as they often unallying provinces allowing you to ally them and then use them to help you eat Savoy which give the strength need then kill Milan in there disaster and from there you just snowball and form Sardinia whilst keep Saluzzo god ideas with out wasting points switching cultures. you can get that OP modifier and pu Frances before forming Italy and than next to is the Rome Empire. my recommendation is to try and stack as much aggressive expiation reduction as you can get it to the point where can have like -65% allowing you to pain the map with little to no worries about AE. the only thing better about Milan is that they are a republic early and are big.
I totally agree that Saluzzo ideas are AMAZINGLY good, but the start just involes to much RNG to make a working guide out of it for new players (maybe a future project XD). And at the end of the day, stuff like "best nation" is very subjective.
Tip for when they ask you to kick out advisors for mana points: you can kick them out yourself, then click the evening and re-employ them again. Same thing if they ask you in any event to kick/kill advisor.
Ok, thanks for the tip! Good to know
it's florence, not milan. Deal with it boy.
- The Local Arsonist.
How dare you!!!
As an Italian, I wish Venice had unified us
But Milan was also based
Should have deleted the Fort in Milano. Saves you 12 ducats every year
But I won't feel as save 👉👈
I formed Italy in 1533.
I am very proud of you!

Whats wrong?
best nation to form italy is obviously montferrato

I woud argue that Salutzzo is better to form italy , cos of OP ideas, can have like 90% AE for 15 years
Yeah. Saluzzo is soooo strong once you get them rolling. Imagen my ideas + theirs. Would be +25 infantry combat ability. CRAZY.
But personally I find it hard to make a guide around them (maybe a challenge for a later date), especially for beginners, so I choose milan.
