@@Harold.Richard I don't think George Patton had much to do with Drew Lock besides trading him to Seattle because he took over in 2021. Vic Fangio definitely screwed him over but Sean is a more offensive minded head coach
You should consider how that turned out & adjust your expectations accordingly. Let's see how this guy progresses before crowning him the next Peyton Manning...which I have already seen somebody do.
@@user-zr4km5ns8t What happened before was a lack of patience and support. Guys like Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw would never have been Hall Of Famers without patience and support. That's the difference between Lock and Nix. But I seriously doubt that anyone is comparing Nix to Peyton Manning. Caleb Williams isn't going to be Peyton Manning.
@@Harold.Richard George Paton didn't do anything to Drew Lock. Lock was here for two years before he even arrived. Lock was sabotaged by Uncle Vic, who made up his mind from the start that he was not going to have Elway dictate his QB to him so he put his finger on the scale & made sure Teddy Bridgewater was the starter when he really didn't earn it. Lock might have worked out had he been able to 1) get a fair shake from Vic, & 2) had not been thrown into the fire during his rookie year. Elway then contributed to his demise by hyping Lock up as the new franchise guy & going all out in the draft to build around him but also putting the same kind of pressure on him that he put on Paxton Lynch. When you get down to it, Paton even avoided harming Lock further when he bypassed Justin Field in the 2021 draft. But all this aside, Drew failed to seize the moment when he had the chance & outplay Bridgewater, so his departure from Denver was a foregone conclusion by the time Paton arrived.
If Sean Payton holds true to how he has seen rookie quarterbacks in the past, you're probably going to be more likely to witness Jarrett Stidham's debut in September...unless you mean September of 2025.

I don't know what was expected, but one thing I do know is that the accolades for being mature will mirror whatever he does on the field.
