Have you recently completed a home insulation project or planning one? What type of insulation fits the bill for you and why?

Good 👍 info having a house built right now and the builder uses spray foam, good time to ask questions before they spray it on. Thank you!😊

May I ask you your opinion about using the smaller store-bought spray foam cans & using these cans for small projects around the home- filling up small/medium-sized cracks or holes but not using it for a total home insulation project. Should one worry about the toxicity if using such small amounts? Thank you for the video.

I have a friend who was inundated by fumes while workers were using insulation in a can. The odor was heavy and caused her multiple back to back seizures.

I have just put of a spray foam rep
I fear that reselling my property will be effected by this foam spay as the mortgage companies like to inspect my property and they want to be sure that my roof structure is sound .
Next thing concerning me is my house wiring , they spray over the cables , this I feel is wrong 😑 if I require future electrical work to be done , the electrician will not be happy I am sure .
The last issue is the fact that it’s advisable to vacate my family while the house is unsafe to breath in the fumes , they say for 24hrs May be even 48hrs .
There has been really poorly installed roof sprays . If you happen to be the on in a thousand that this happens to you will be in for a long battle to rectify this .
I was not happy to risk this 👍🏻

Great video Matt. Beaucoup d’informations très intéressantes. I think using it for my garage up north in Québec. Somme installers using a product made with soy beans. It seems to be safer.

Soy bean insulation? Now that's something we gotta see!

Hi Jean Yves! We did some digging on soybean spray foam insulation and it turns out that it's just an additive that doesn't provide any extra value - the foam is the exact same. A great example of #greenwashing :(

I have seen information on this with the soy bean and unfortunately it is not safer

Spray foam definitely has its risks! Matt did his basement in spray foam and made sure his family stayed away for 72 hours while it off-gassed. That's not enough for some folks, especially if someone in your home has sensitive airways or is immuno-compromised.

Yes definitely not safe! People are getting sick from this all over. From us to canada.

Agreed, can’t wait for DuPont to introduce some kind of toxic version.
