You get it pretty loud, but is it loud enough, as against commercial releases? And do you then use a maximiser or limiter itb?
Hi there, good question. I will test to see how loud it really is! Here i'm demonstrating a chain for recording a live performance or streaming. When it comes to a commercial release, even with years of mixing and mastering under y belt i would always prefer to have another human wrap their ears round it at the mastering stage. Its good practice, how ever tempting it is to do it your self. I also feel supporting mastering engineers with their craft is important especially with the new shiny A.I mastering options out their. Nothing beats a human relationship in the creative process. So to answer your question about using a final clipepr/limiter ITB, technically yes for commercial release, although this still could be hardware, and no for live performance recordings or streaming. I plan to collect my best performances from my shows and live streaming in the future and release them as a live album and in this instance unless i have the levels way under a competitive level i will leave as is, its part of the overall sound and capturing a moment in how i do things. Hope that helps!
:)
@@Wildb0y thanks for the detailed answer, appreciate it

hi! What's the name of your mixer that's up there? Yamaha DM3?
You're driving the camera too fast. make horizontal videos. Vertical video cropping is not very informative.
Hi, yes apologies for the fast camera, it was very ad hock of me! (intended for Tbh i need to do a proper series, in horizontal, on how i use compression and eq etc. I find over the years less is more (i struggle with this!) and one of the most important ingredients in a good mix is a great arrangement.
