- Kurt Walker (Harlem, 9 August 1959), better known as Kurtis Blow, is an American rapper and producer. His first and best-known hit is 'The Breaks'. One of his most successful songs was 'Basketball', a co-production with Full Force from Brooklyn. His music was influenced by DJ Hollywood.

I had the good fortune to perform with Kurtis Blow when he had a release party performance in central park NYC in 1980.
I had a fantastic roller disco group which worked for the Empire Roller Disco in Brooklyn NY who were my management we were hired to do the gig and other performances including movies and tv commercials all on skates. I will never forget that experience. Bravo Kurtis!
