you're the only person who's reviewed to product on the whole of CZcams. thought more people would have.
Had to subscribe, finally, a person who doesn't make a long video beating around the bush. You won me.
I've dealt with these specific iMortor things a couple of times for bike shop customers. They're pretty easy to install on most bikes (some bikes need a little metalwork to make them fit), but they're slow with disappointingly short range.
They're be good for a kid who wants an e-bike.
Greetings from Canada. Home of the Rocky Mountain. Love how you converted an old Rocky Mountain bike. Nice to know you can convert an old bike with this e-bike option.
Nice review, short info-filled and to the point. Thanks for the post.
I'm shopping electric bikes for my wife, this looks like a nice way of accomplishing that. The motor and the range look fine for her purposes, thanks for the review!
Nice review. Just what I wanted to know, thank you.
2 stroke conversation!!! have one..on my second years....runs great!!!.... lots of fun!
Great information and nicely produced, thank you for sharing.
When shipping cost more then the actual item.
Wow thanks for the video, it seems easy to put the new wheel on, but i wanted to know if it is easy to put the old wheel again for example when mountainbiking? Thanks again and keep up the good work!
I may have to try this, Thumbs up
I don't really need crazy fast top speed or long lasting battery, I just need something simple to add a motor on an old bike to pick kid up from school, this is perfect! Thanks for this video!
brilliant video. I was looking 4 a cheap solution
This video content is really helpful for us, I really like to this video content.
Love all your videos. After watch review DJI Spark....i go out and order one lol
I'm not sure if I saw one this bike, but I would like to stress the importance of using a torque arm when installing a front hub motor. It helps prevent the axle bolt from twisting out of the fork which can be really dangerous to lose your front wheel, especially at high speed.
Yes. Long term review please.
Long term review for the unit. How has been the performance by now. Average range with peddal. Plz update
Yes. Long term review please.
Hi Ben, thank you very much for this comprehensive contribution. There is one point you may want to clarify. What is the reaction of the wheel when pulling the brake, i.e. because of a red light? Does the wheel pull you into the crossing traffic, despite of breaking? Or does the engine stop working (as it should)?
Most units have an optional Barack switch, that does imeadiatly stop the motor.
I bought an Android phone for my i mortor wheel. Make sure it has bluetooth 4.00. But I have found, the wheel worked, without me even switching on my phone, so you don't need a phone to make the wheel function. You mainly need the phone app to switch gears, battery level, speed... The throttle/accelerator switch works to propel the wheel without the app. You have to start peddling first of all, get the wheel spinning before the motor kicks in.
Cool for commuting in business wear!
Wow, you really deserve more subs!
Thank you!
I just saw another review of this bike from another dude. He said the same words that you said. that's weird
I noticed and looked into this (same words) thing not too long ago. Sponsored adds often come with scripts or talking points. One time I heard two different guys use the phrase, "when you have to take care of it on the fly" word for word.
People gota Make Money somehow lol
Crazy, but I’m not surprised!
I bought one of these, really does assist and easy to fit although a little heavy,, the only downside is the battery only lasts for about 8 km {5 miles} before needing a recharge.
bigger battery in the frame would get better range and improve balance on the bike.
Can I fit this conversation kit on an Ancheer Electric bike front wheel so I can make it a dual motor system?
do you get any torque driven understeer when trying to make a tight turn while engaging the motor drive? In other words, does the bike try to go straight while applying power the to motor during a tight turn?
This video is from 2017, and like everything involving electronics, the technology has improved and prices have changed since then. I'm doing the research on converting my cruiser bike to electric such as was done in this video, but from what I'm seeing so far, for the price of a conversion kit similar to what is shown in this video, plus a battery (most kits I've seen online so far do NOT include the battery - add a couple of hundred $$), you'd have spent $500-ish dollars on the conversion, maybe a little more, and you'd still have to do the conversion work yourself. That doesn't include the cost of the bike itself whether you've already spent that money and have an existing bike or not. On the other hand, there are already converted, complete electric bikes available online now for right around $600 with specs very similar to this and other conversion kits. Converting my existing bike is making less sense to me at this point vs. buying a complete electric bike already converted. The wild card is buying a bike sight-unseen vs. the cruiser bike I already have.
battery is included, all together is 300 bucks
do they have this on a 20in wheel? I'd love to put it on my recumbent, but my front wheel is 20in
I've got the iMotor and it works pretty well except I can't get the bluetooth to work. Would there be a way to add another battery? I'm not a wiz on electronics. It seems all of the control boards are located in the moon shaped battery. Would it be possible to attach a pig tail that would come through the case on have a pug / connector to attached a similar or larger 2nd bank of batteries that could be hung in a bag, mounted on the frame or even laid in a basket? I've not taken any trips more than a few miles but I'd like to be able to do a ride of between 20 and 30 miles. Everything I've seen and read indicates the battery wont last that far. OR, would it just be best to get a second batter? Thanks
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
How much does the wheel weigh when fully assembled? I am thinking about buying this. I was originally thinking about getting the geo wheel but after reading the reviews & see how much that costs, this is way better. During the thanksgiving weekend it was down to $249. Wish I had purchased it then. Maybe they will have another sale soon.
Was curious did you order from banggood and did it come with battery also how is it holding up
Thank you. A lot of vids just go over the features of various bikes and kits, but don’t go into details!
Nice little add on, there's better ones out there but for light and cheap looks fair. Question on weatherproofness, how rain/puddle proof is it and the controller? I'll be getting splashed a lot.
Awesome video, I look forward to,every one you upload. Keep up the awesome work! Great drone footage and I like how you showed the install and the issue you had, one room for improvement, lower the music a little and PLEASE make your videos longer, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. I always feel rushed watching it due to the short length and quick pacing, we on CZcams like more detail and depth and can do without some of the fancy cuts and edits. In any case, love the videos bud!
Nice!! Love your video's man!!
+ImVirgoZ - thanks!
So for this kit, there's no big bulky controller box or excessive wires? Or did that not get covered?
How heavy is the wheel? If I'm doing deliveries and I run out of battery, how difficult is it gonna be to pedal?
Also, can this wheel be used in the rain?
Good questions...
Nice review
How many different ones have you looked at and is this the best?
How about one that can easily use batteries other than the maker's custom pack?
How has this done over the months/years you've had it
two questions. First, can I buy more battery packs for extended range? and second, is there a more powerful option in that configuration, like a 1000 or 1500 watts?
Can you ride with out electric when it dies or does it have drag , like it’s harder to ride ? Thanks I’m totally new to the scene and would consider purchasing this one For the ease .. ty for the upload
More than I ever expected
Great ideas thanks.
ive got this kit but it lasts less 1 hour under power from new which did suprise me but is actually what it is rated at as i am not a light person. hopefully they will release a longer range battery as the kit itself is a valant effort and move into the ebike market.
Nice demo. which mobile app you use to connect bike with cell phone?
love your videos
+Jayden V. - thanks, Jayden
Hello Ben I was wondering if you still use the bike and hows it doing?
is it better to have the electric wheel in the back or the front of the bike.I'm thinking if i had a flat tire i can change it easier and faster if i had the electric wheel in the front tell me something ?
Nice video!
+xXSalomon Xx - thank you for watching
Im interested on the product. I like to know if can I climb inclined roads relying on the motor only? How about noise too?
Seems nice. Do you know if it's waterproof?
Excellent! it is possible to get the recharge automatically while running?
Hey is the imotor wheel holding up still?
Do you think that set is dummies proof?? I'm afraid buying it
and later not being able to install it in my bike.
What brand is the e bike hub and where can I purchase one?
ben love your reviews
+yorkshire vaper - thanks so much
Looks like I'm saving up now.
Hi there
I have one of the e bike wheels and for the price they are pretty cool
I’m looking at getting another battery for the bike but have no idea where to purchase one
I’m not even sure if they have them in days anymore
Any details or advice I would be most grateful
Many thanks
Cool. I like it. I. I already subscribed. I like all youre videos published. Please Keep it on the future video. Please make more videos and on transportation like hoverboard
+Ian Alaman - okay thanks Ian
Thanks for the review man. I LOVE riding a mountain bike off and on road, but my back starts to hurt if I go too hard so I can use the throttle when times get tough
Is there a site dedicated to what ewheel for which bike? I have a trek bike.
i got a mountain bike with Vbrakes and i ordered the 002 model was that correct choice? the only mountain bike option they had was for disc brakes so i didnt get it, please help
Great video thanks for making it.
Do they make one for a 700c wheel?
Do they have a bigger battery version?
liked and subscribed. great video. do you or anyone else who know how long would the batter last when on pedal assist?
Is it possible to use a bigger battery with this motor. Maybe mount it on the frame?
I got one of these kits and I turned on the button and all 3 lights were on, and when I hit the throttle nothing happened. I was wondering if you had the same issue, and if you have to have the bike in motion in order to use it?
Do they come with 27.5" wheels? And also does it fit still fit with disc brakes in front?
Do you know were I can buy just the throttle adaptor
it says battery bag not included is that just the bag or do u have to buy the battery with it?
How do i charge it.. I got one mine has a plug cable one one end wires on the other do I put a wall plug on it to charge it
sooo could i buy like 2 battery packs and hold them on a rack, and just carry them and switch them when needed?
can you give us any clues on how to open up the motor compartment? It got water in it and we need to dry it out. We've taken the screws out but can't get the cover off. Can you suggest anything? Thanks for any replies
great vid man. would love to see you review the 350w version.
Hi,do you try on the rain ?i need to know pls, thanks.
Can you tell me which kits best for food delivery job... with affordable price all in one ?
Do they make a model that will fit a Honda Ruckus front? I'd love to turn mine into some sort of a hybrid.
Is this working with Montague folding bikes too?
Hello i have a specialized mountain bike 29ner where can i get the same set up for my bike.?
Hi, Ben. This video was great, very informative. I was wondering if it's possible to replace the tire and tube from this electric wheel with puncture resistant tire and slime tube? Thanks.
Very nice video
The 4th green light on the battery is not going to stop blinking! Do I have to unplug it? How long is time to full charge?
great , cool
I wonder if it's possible to use the wheel on the rear instead of the front
Can i get one for a 20 inch rim? Also can i get one for my back tire instead of my front so the torq can be in the back?
Is the battery too big for hand carry when on flights that do not allowed checking in of lithium batteries
I live in Manchester CT how much. Are they & where can I get one for ?
How longs isthe life on it I'm thinking about buying one but I don't want it to just last a few months I want it to last a good while
great idea
it's down to $289 now. Not a bad deal.
Edit: I almost prefer the front wheel add on motor. It gives you 2 wheel drive in the end.
+murderdoggg - Hah, great point! Thanks for sharing
murderdogg /yeah never even thought of it that way makes good sense man
The funny thing is that the battery itself costs $200 on ebay lol you'd be better off just buying a new motor.
$150 now at walmart drop that down to $40-$90 an i would say its worth it considering the parts are dirt cheap
Yup, I find it's actually easier to steer a bike with an engine on the front than on the back in Winter. Less slipping it seems. I'm actually considering keeping this little Honda on the front of the Huffy to drive the front Kevlar tire for more Winters to come, and as backup engine in Summer, but adding on a 6.5HP engine mid-frame to chain drive the rear wheel for faster travel when roads are clear and safer for the higher speed, or as a backup engine in Winter. My suggestion for anyone on a much smaller budget, get 1 of those $150-250 Chinese engine kits for the back and 1 of those $290-400 electric hub motor kits for the front. It'd help with starting, riding and fuel efficiency, plus, if you run out of gas, turn on the engine, and if you run out of battery charge, pedal to bump start the engine. Maybe put on a set or 2 of adult stabilizer wheels for Winter though...
How heavy is the front wheel in lbs?
Can you tell me what brand is the e bike kit
is it easy to plug auxiliary 36V battery and not the tiny "halfmoon" that plugs in the hub?
Are the pedals on it due to the motor being too weak to take it up hills?
I'm new to this E-world, i would have thought e-motors give it enough power to go up hills, Can you shed some light on this please?
What about the disc brake on this conversion kit? How does that work? Hydraulic? Electric? Mechanical? Can you just use the old brakes for the new front wheel?
Is the 250W motor enough to ride up hills with a child on the rear child seat? I usually get off the bike and push it to the climb =( This would be perfect for me...
Does it regen when braking or pedal?
Nice video
