I kept hoping that California would win but it was obvious Texas would win!! Interesting, that GuyRex produced the Top 2 that year. Diana Magana was stunning but Courtney Gibbs looked like Grace Kelly!! Amazing!!

I love how Michelle told all the contests that they're all beautiful as she was taking her final walk. No outgoing title holder has done that before or since. She was definitely one of the best Miss USA's, in my opinion.

Laura Herring didn't do any better as she didn't make it past the semis. Christy Fichtner fared the best among the Texas Aces at Miss Universe, finishing first runner-up to Barbara Palacios Teyde in 86. Both Michele Royer and Gretchen Polhemus each finished second runner- up at their respective Miss Universe pageants.
@Robergalv Miss Teen USA was in the audience, but Miss Universe was not there.

@lianlaspinas I didn´t know Cecilia Bolocco and Miss Teen Usa were in the pageante that night, why didn´t they both special guests?
Miss Texas was the best that night definetily, followed by Miss California who brighted that night.
Miss California should have won! She could have been one of the first latina winners!
Miss California was nowhere near as beautiful as Courtney Gibbs, the winner. Miss California needed a nose job!
