How to Make Metaballs Pattern | Adobe Illustrator

- Hello Guys,
Here another Illustrator Pattern tutorial, in this tutorial I'll show you a simple way to create Seamless Metaballs Pattern.
In computer graphics, metaballs are organic-looking n-dimensional isosurfaces, characterized by their ability to meld together when in close proximity to create single, contiguous objects. With Metaballs we can create interesting pattern form, it looks like seamless organic pattern.
In this tutorial, I use randomus script to randomize the pattern colors. If you don't know about this script and how to install it, please check this link

Looks exactly the same as this video by newtech creative posted a while back! “Simple pattern - Fusion 360” good to see the pattern recycled
Somehow this does not work for me... when I create the circles with the outline and try to use shape builder it does not recognize the space in between the stroke, because it only sees the "fill" as a shape :/ any help? (when I try to expand the stroke, it gets pretty edgy)

when you expand apperances , expand the stroke too. the gap between the circles will then merge
Randomus and many other scripts don't run in the latest version of Ai on the latest OS platform. Error 23 - no value Line 146 -> data-hydro-click...
What the OS you use ? I use Latest version of Ai on win 10 and the scripts work fine.

Why is my expand appearance greyed out
This may sound dumb but how do I get those toolbars on top of my screen. I have only the side menu and the swatch color, align menus on the right side.
Go to the Window > control
On the last step of the tutorial but I am having trouble viewing the desktop site mode. Any chance you can give me another tutorial haha?
If you on pc or mac just open the link. If you on android, use Chrome and go to the option then check the Desktop site.

How do you randomise with color and stroke using the script panel?
You cant randomize them at the same time. So I just ramdomize the color fill with some colors, and select similiar object with the same color (also you can do it with magic wand tool) then turn them all to stroke (shift + x)
