That is just language evolving, it’s always been happening. Slang then often turns into acceptable/official language. Also I guess it is Great for communities (such as young people on the Internet) to have their own kind of language that no one else understands.

For a number of reasons, Ollie's dad strikes me as highly intelligent... like, way above average (not to mention very curteous). He reminds me of some of my college professors. I've no idea what his job is/was, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had an academic background. Ollie should count himself lucky to have someone like that in his family
