I think the Lucky Strike 1" Victor is the best spinner ever. It's all I have used for almost 50 years and counting. However, my best catch ever was plain hook and worm.

What about a little 2 wheel rig that you could strap to the canoe as you paddled , then use it to haul the canoe , I have seen them for Kyaks , must be something , lightweight you can build , or buy
