You guys do steel structure framing then wood. What is the cost ratio of steel to wood post framing? Is there at some point in square footage one versus the other?
We don’t have a spreadsheet of ratios. Primarily in normalized construction you can’t do with wood what you can with steel. However I don’t believe this design is limited to a steel frame Barndominium. It was a chosen method of preference due to durability, low maintenance and efficiency values based on our style of build and the flexibility that we could achieve as well for the layout.
So the windows in the closets don't fade your clothes? I love the natural light, I just worry when I see windows in closets that might happen.
Not that I’m aware. I have in my closet but most people use diffusers and shades as well.
Curious if something like this is 3 steel structures that are connected. I’ve always wondered how you would give a home dimension using multiple steel buildings but hadn’t seen it done

The added sqft covers the cost of cabinets typically speaking but there are modifications here as well

Love the design but living in Texas, that safe is only big enough for rodeo buckles...it would have to be significantly bigger for firearms...lol
