This series had a lot of amazing redemptive qualities to it.
Gary Payton and Shaq got to run it back and avenged their 2004 finals loss against the Pistons! And they get to brag that they beat the pistons while the Pistons core was still intact and still in their prime!
Shaq looks like he got himself in shape and shot 69% in this series! Makes a huge difference when your shooting guard actually passes the ball to you.
And then in the finals, Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Antoine walker, and Jason Williams all finally won a championship. None more deserving than Mourning and Payton.

='| yeah that year was just all dysfunctional for the lakers. If they could have just played ball together they should have won. Then again they played a slow game of basketball and were down a pf. With a crap bench. This Miami team ran Detroit down.

It boggles my mind that Shaq isn’t the all time leading scorer. I mean by just watching him you can see that he’s nearly impossible to stop. Get him the ball and he’s almost automatic

The zone defense of Saunders was weak vs the Heat, and especially Dwayne Wade... Fired Larry Brown was a Mistake. The light was on Shaq and Wade, but don't forget Williams, Haslem, Walker, Posey, Payton, Mourning... Shaq was criticized this season 2006, he reserved for the playoffs, 28 points 16 rebounds, 5 blocks in this game 6.
