Absolutely true. Surviving one's programming or even managing to reprogram ourselves requires showing up for ourself in a way that can often challenge our deepest beliefs. Beliefs form the foundation of everything. A relationship is a belief or collection of beliefs that often is the instrument whereby we can learn. A projection screen of sorts. It helps if you both know it, so that the greatest amount of learning can occur. And love is the best teacher.
Reading your words makes me think of the classic saying "Love yourself before you can love someone else". You haven't been fully able to forgive yourself, and in order to love truly, you have to make peace with the inner demons and your complete past. We know you have been trying and we support you.

It's empowering, though, to see a group of positive human men "drumming" together, within in an ancient Native-American influence, I recall that this was a positive "get-together". The hope was to somehow elevate the spiritual relationship amongst us all. It is still possible, and, most probably, still our human destiny.
