  • I am not a mechanic and this is for informational purposes only. I had an issue with the display not indicating the correct gear or any gear at all. The problem could be that the electrical contacts on the gear position sensor need to be cleaned. this is a step by step guide on how I accomplished this.

    Why can't all how-to repair videos be like this?
    Quick, to the point, no fluff and explanation, everything he does is shown, all the dead time is cut, reassembly is included.
    Everything you need, nothing you don't

    Hey @thumperdude can you spray a bit of ACF-50 in the sensor to keep it clean and corrosion-free?

    is not only like that > the wire will broken inside (from vibrations ), you mast to clean the silicon of the back and welding the wire , then will be a good fix !

    Which spray do you use to clean the sensor? Also, what type of oil do you use?

    • @thumperdude630
      @thumperdude630  Před 2 lety +4

      i believe i used brake cleaner. and i just use yamalube which should be what's recommended

  • @juancalderon3824

    Did you add the chain guard back at the end?

    My experience: The sensor is housed in plastic. Do not overtighten it because this dingdong (aka myself) did it accidentally and now it has a crack on the screwhole. The replacement unit is like $200 or more.
