    Nice! For my purposes I happy to hear that it doesn't seem to make too much noise in the green house or even outside. I think that will do you very nicely!

    Looks good Nic. It will be interesting to see how you get on with it long term.
    So just roughly so far: 1 litre in 8 hours = £4.50 a day if not running on red diesel.

      Hi Steve, as it's been quite mild, I haven't really run it for a long time yet to see the cost effectiveness. Will keep you posted. All the best Nic

      I use kerosene its cheaper and cleaner burn. i heat my ground floor of my 3 bed semi with one 5kw heater on lowest setting ducted direct through wall to living room it stays at 20 to 21c with all internal ground floor doors open, with otside temp about zero. heater is in insulated box with return hole to keep up efficiency. you do not want to draw in cold airit just will not work without burning to much fuel. at lowest It uses 150ml per hour. I'm paying £.108 + 5% vat. per liter and I;m told it will be going down .

      Where did you get 4.50 a day from?

      @@oojimmyflip Manufacturer's data sheet. 150ml per hour, call it 1L in 8 hours. 3L in 24 hours. £1.50 per litre (very underestimated LOL)

    Lovely sounding machine once it was motoring along. Good option when there’s no electricity. Interested to hear how much it costs to run over a week. All the best, Hugh

      @NicsAllotment  Před 2 lety

      Hi Hugh, it's been warmer in the greenhouse than my house at times. I haven't run it for a long time yet as the weather here has been quite mild for this time of year. I'm hoping to only have to use it overnight. When I get more info on the running costs I'll do an update. All the best Nic

    Thank you Nic, very interesting and informative especially on fitting the extras. Someone has a new heater which has a fault and may be getting that later on in the year. Did you say how much the tank held?

    The filter needs to be fitted on exiting tank before fuel gets to the pump. not the burn chamber its also a good idea to fit a fuel tap to help with any future maintenance .save having to empty tank! sorry but just spotted mufler is upside down it will fill up with condensation drain hole must be at bottom these things are a learning curve but well worth it

    How long can the ducting be?
    im thinking of trying to use as a patio heater, so I can keep a good few meters from the patio to minimise noise.
    I have a 10kw gas space heater and too noisy if with 2 or 3 m.
    8kw ought to be plenty if that really is the output.
    Ideally 5m duct with the last 3m with holes in where it would sit under the patio table & spread the heat
    do you think this might work.

    • @NicsAllotment
      @NicsAllotment  Před 2 lety

      Hi Gregory, this is a new heater to me, so I don't really know how long the pipe can be to be effective. Your idea sounds ok, but I think the noise will come out the end of the pipe so it might not be as quiet as you need it to be for your patio heater. As I say with gardening, it's got 2 chances. Give it a go! All the best Nic

    Isn't that going to be on the expensive side to run for any decent amount of time ??

    • @NicsAllotment
      @NicsAllotment  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Phil, the plan was to use it as a boost to keep the temp up in the greenhouse overnight, but as there hasn't been a really cold snap lately, I've not been able to see how costly it's going to be, especially with the recent price hikes! It can be run on red diesel or kerosene which are cheaper. All the best Nic

    Another man who thinks he bought an 8kw chinese diesel heater, you need to do some more research on youtube before you make a mistake. There is no such thing as an 8kw diesel heater. Look up David Mcluckie on you tube. Youll learn a lot from him.
