    Great news to have an EU supplier 👍 Dalas EV repair has shown a similar adapter from China / AliExpress. Quite expensive, though. Will definitely check the link to this one 👍 Please follow up with more videos on this one as firmware improves.

      Most likely Evniculus is just a business that bought these in bulk from Alibaba/Dongguan Longood Technology to resell them in Bulgaria, Germany and some other EU countries. The design is 100% identical to the Chinese adapter that autonlaturit/PJ-Yhtiöt (Finnish site in Dala's video) resells in Finland :D

    Probably the most important lesson from this video is the variability in charging protocols among various chargers and the companies that support them. This is clearly an area where government standards for interoperability would make sense.
    As for the ChaDemo to CCS adapter, I am happy it exists. However, with the Leaf it is more of a safety net foe a longe trip than a real solution for long trips because of the SW that limits fast charging on the Leaf.

    • @noneyabusiness88
      @noneyabusiness88 Před 4 měsíci +1

      In all honesty, it's better for the battery. If you drive alot, I'd suggest buying the appropriate EV. The reason people have so many problems with EVs and Evs catching fire is people want it charged NOW. I own a leaf and I've used Chademo twice. Once when I left the dealership and another time after a "trip". I didn't have to that time but I wanted to see how long it would take to go from 50% to 80%. That's the range I keep it in. Every day at work, I plug my charger into an outlet and charge. I get 20%. That covers errands and work. On the weekends I use Volta chargers. They're J plug chargers and you can charge free for 2 hours. That covers weekend errands. Rarely below 50%. Rarely above 80%. Your cars battery will last for 500k miles.

      @@noneyabusiness88 When I can help it, I prefer to level 2 charge.
      When I can help it. For long trips, I need the DC Fast Charging.
      I did luck out and find a Level 2 Charger a mere 5-10minute walk from work, so this is now my primary charger (Bonus, it's free!) - WHEN IT WORKS. Sadly these 4 chargers are in very high demand so IF they are free working? It's great! When they aren't, however... I've got to swing over to the Electrify America down the road.
      That being said, I'll never Fast Charge unless the car is under 30%, as a rule. Level 2 charge is a little different, I try to not do that unless it's below 50%.

    • @noneyabusiness88
      @noneyabusiness88 Před 4 měsíci

      @@JE-zl6uy it'll definitely help your battery life. People are so consumed with fast charging. These manufacturers keep trying to do more for fast charging and all they're doing is helping people destroy their battery. Evs definitely can work on a large scale. The battery tech needs to not be held back for profits. Lifepo4 and solid state batteries as well as nuclear batteries are the future. Imagine a AA battery that can power your house for a month or more. That's what a diamond battery has the potential for.

      Yes, I found a brand new charging station last week right on the way to my daughter's home. I pulled in with 18% left about 8 miles from my destination. I thought, "This is great! Restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The perfect place to top up for the trip back "). . . then I noticed, they ONLY HAD CCS there. No CHAdeMO! &*$#@! I am afraid I will be seeing this more and more often as new stations go in. When the price drops from outrageous to maybe just unreasonable I will likely buy one. ;-)
