The Healing Touch and the Woman with an Issue of Blood

- In the synoptic gospels, we read of the story of Jesus healing the woman who had an issue of blood. The woman had tried unsuccessfully for twelve long years to be healed. According to the Law of Moses, because she constantly was bleeding she was considered ritually unclean, and thus should not touch anyone else as they would become unclean as well. She also was unable to worship at the Temple as she was always in a state of ritual impurity. The healing touch of Jesus restored her to everyday life and temple worship, the same blessing He can do for us.

This story is amazing in leui of the OT scriptures which forbids touching of anyone or anything while in an unclean state. She broke the "law" to touch Jesus in faith for healing. OMG! She was bold enough to do such as thing. Also, she seemed confident enough in who Jesus was to break the "law" by touching him. Talk about faith in action.
Yes, it is quite a remarkable story! She was an amazing woman of faith. That is actually one thing I wish I would have focused more on was the effect this miracle would have had on her. It would have completely changed her life because of the requirements of the law.

Yeah; Yeshua was on His way to Jarius' House which was attached to the Synagogue to heal his servant. This Woman knew that she ought be Stoned on the Spot! For coming into Town & potentially Defiling everyone on the Sabbath. For Touching a Kosher Rabbi while she is Unclean. We just talked about this in school. A guy said, “Wouldn’t she die of blood loss” and my teacher replies with the truth. The whole class, of immature 7th graders, looked deeply disturbed and the boys felt some sympathy for us for the first time.

After being in the Lukewarm Church for 50 years, I assumed that I was saved because I said a prayer and I was baptized...But clearly I was a hypocrite because my life has Willful sin, so I rarely ever saw answered prayers in my life.
Then 6 years ago I found out that it Only takes 1 Day to Lsten to the N.T. Bible. The Truth Set Me Free in 1 Day!!! Now I read my Bible cover to cever every month, and I warn people to read The Word for themselves and STOP trusting in a Pastor's interpretation.
I finally had faith (w/o doubting) knowing that Jesus could completely heal My Mind Body Soul and Spirit, and Her did on Aug 10, 2017! I prayed for Jesus to heal me of breast cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, etc and by the 2nd or 3rd appointments the disease was gone! ❤ When we put our Faith in a Doctor, who prescribe medications which w/o exception is a Demonic Spirit of Pharmakeia!! So if God chose not to heal me, I would rather suffer in pain until I died, then to willfully open the door to let Demonic Spirits in!
In 6 years as a "True" Believer, I have Never Once experienced: anger, guilt, shame, insecurity, fear, perverted thoughts, alcohol, depression, jealousy, worry, suicidal thoughts, lying, bad language, pride, doubts, unforgiveness, complaining, etc... etc... When Satan shoots an arrow, I simply Pray and takes that thought Captive by making it Obedient to Christ; so within 5 seconds I have complete Victory!

After she touched him, the scripture says that Jesus felt his power come out of him and heal the woman. Even though he knew who had touched him, he asked, " Who touched me?" At this point the woman spoke up and Jesus told her that her faith had saved her.

Why did the woman touch the hem of Jesus' garment? Because it was prophesied in Micah 4:2 that the Messiah would come with "healing in his wings." In Hebrew, the word for "hem" is kanaph, which is also a homonym for "wings". The people of Jesus' time understood this connection. Thus, touching the hem of or wings of his garment was an implicit testimony that he was the Messiah.

There is also something else which is quite interesting. Jesus is the promised messiah who will re-build David’s kingdom and hence all 12 tribes will be again one nation.
But 12 tribes disobeyed gods law. So you see the connection between the woman (god refers to Israel as his wife) and the 12 years of impurity (12 tribes did not follow law). So, the woman touching the tassels means Israel coming back to god and obeying his word/ law and by this they will become unclean. They just need the faith that god will forgive them and make them strong enough to obey god and not go astray anymore.

Why blue? Purple was associated with Greek and Roman royalty, but blue was the color of Israelite royalty. So, why of all colors blue? You may have touched on it: "...would be the closest thing to touching Heaven." Blue was the color of the sky, reminding people to look to heaven, and blue was the color of bodies of water, reminding people of its power to wash off the dust of the earth. Air and water are matter, but they are fluids, finer and more ephemeral than solid earth: Life on earth is ephemeral, and spirit is matter, but it is more refined than the solid matter of earth. All together, these suggest why Jehovah chose blue to be associated in the minds of Israelites with their royalty and religion.

Hem of garment
An important part of an Israelite’s dress, owing to the regulation in Num. 15:38-39. It was really a tassel at each “wing” or corner of the tallith or mantle (Matt. 14:36). The law required that it should be bound with a thread of blue, the color of heaven. The strict Jews to this day wear these tassels, though they are usually concealed. The Pharisees made them conspicuously large (Matt. 23:5). It would be the tassel that hung over the shoulder at the back that the woman with the issue of blood came and touched (Luke 8:44; also Ex. 28:33-34).
Hem is the word the King James Version uses but remember this is a translation of the original word, and translations are never exact. If you look at the original Greek it actually means "a fringe or tassel" not a hem. If anything, using the word hem would be imposing something that was not there, because that was not the actual meaning of the original word. Yes, the KJV translators used that, but again, the original word written by the Gospel writers is always better than a translator's word more than a thousand years later who was not personally there.
