Excellent video! Great to see/hear the box working along with the corresponding train movements. Pity you cannot convey the smells from within a working manual box as well......
I love watching your videos of the recent history of our railways, it shows just how much has changed since our railways were privatised. Maybe not all good but there's been a lot done and there still is, to improve our railways as a business but usually this is at odds with how I wish it could be for us enthusiasts. Also good to see just how far road vehicles have come since then!
Hey this is a very good video, it is interesting to see the signalman working the signal box. The different trains also make this video interesting. Well done
That was fabulous. Thanks for posting this videp

Wonder what John would think of the electrification works in the area and the boxes being pulled down.
R.I.P.
Did you know Donald my dad. He worked at most of the north Manchester boxes, including this one.
Great video.
I've passed that box countless times over the years.
Nice video. Nice to see the insides of the signal boxes too.
Nice to see 47503 aka 47771 working at the end of the video. I suspect this loco will be in the preservation press shortly.
Thanks for sharing this
Never knew Meatloaf worked in a BR signal box.
You took the words right out of my mouth...
