Oregano is another antiviral. I use it at the first sign of a stuffy nose or cough. I use oregano oil. One drop on my foot gets rid of the stuffy nose within 5 minutes. It also helps with sinus problems.

Another excellent food is green table grapes. Pineapple works best before consuming mucus forming foods, while table grapes work best right afterwards.
The papain in Pineeapples is also very Good for Inflammation. I don't eat Pineapples religiously - I should. An old Latino man who saw suffering with my Spinal Arthritis (and in many other joints) told me to eat Pineapples! I gotta try that everyday for a period of weeks. That's a problem of mine...I take too many supplements on irregular schedule. There are benefits to many supplements but they do take TIME to work, some 6-8 weeks to see the benefits. Like Turmeric & ginger, Oregano oil is a supposedly a "powerful" anti=fungal , anti-bacterila, and anti-viral ingredient. It did not work against my toenail fungus !! I'e consumed it, I applied it to the nails and in my shoes with no real results. In fact, many doctors, if not all, never even relate that Fungal nail problem to other potential health problems. Without Being a Doctor by any means, common sense would seem to indicate that having this living Fungus in your body just MIGHT contribnute to other issues including inducing Fungal respiratory issues or Pneumonia!!

I can't believe you didn't include turmeric, a known mucus and phlegm expectorant. A decoction of ginger, turmeric and honey is excellent for a sore throat and congestion. Even very young children can have this with no ill effects. Or just mix a teaspoon of turmeric with 2 teaspoons of honey. You'll find that your mucus will start reducing.
Please can I mix it in warm water???
You can mix turmeric in warm water /tea about 1 to 2 tea spoons
I use turmeric a lot in cooking but I'm still choc full of mucous.
