- Michael gives us a tour of a 1974 Piper Cherokee 140. The owner spent over $100,000 restoring her to her former glory. What followed was a complete Bendix-King avionics install, interior refurbishment and a full strip and repaint in shiny silver!

Worth every penny to that owner! Mine is hung up in annual for a paperwork snag...been almost 5 weeks now...
Gotta love paperwork 🤦♂️
The approach plates in the display are a really nice touch.
I agree, it’s a great spot for them to be displayed!
Love that avionics panel I have a strong motor and nice paint just need that avionics up-grade!!! Nice plane
B E A U T I F U L ! ! ! 😍
beautifull !!!!!!! i have a cherokee 65" and is a great plane.. i fly with 4 people but i have 160hp and wing extension. some day i would be happy if i can buy this avionics.
Beautiful plane!
that's cool - giving me ideas...
Thanks for watching Brian!
Definately worth it, especially when you can save a fair chunk of change doing a lot of the work yourself as a lame, what a awesome clean plane period, let alone to train in, could eat your dinner off that thing, even the door latch looks nice, i find one up and full fuel they hop off the ground quite well 1st stage flap, but feel a little more sluggish climb rate in the clean configuration, and yes hahaha the back seats are just an illusion thats more likely gunna see flight bags or eskys than bums 😀
I know right, I’d so shiny and new! 😍
Haha yep, not the most useable back seats. Only good for taking your kids up really!
Well done, the only thing that doesn't look as new as the balance, is the engine, but you said that it is...
Owner may not have repainted the casing perhaps 🤔
Was it worth it? Well the owner of this airplane must have thought so. I assume this fits his mission much better than other options.
But this wouldn't fit my mission. I'd rather put $100k into something that went a little faster than 108 knots.
Personally, I’d agree. The owner also happens to have a Piper Lance though so he’s got no shortage of toys!
no brainer
it's more or less a new aircraft
god knows a what new one would cost 400k i would have thought
if it was me and i could afford it (which i carn't ) archer 2 would be my choice to refurb bigger engine and the back seats would get used 😎
I agree, an Archer would be a much better private aircraft! This one was refurbished in order to be used as a trainer so it doesn't really need a good useful load. Thanks for watching Tony!
One hell of a nice trainer! With new GA aircraft selling over 1/2 million, the 80-120k refurb range is not a bad deal! You didn’t mention airframe, so I imagine it’s solid?
Nice job on the plane. How does the display compare to the G3X touch ?? Thanks
The G3X touch is absolutely superior, however the Bendix King provides a glass cockpit at nearly half the price. If it were my aircraft, I'd save up the extra money to install a G3X. Hope that helps!
I Can't believe that you didn't put the Power Flow exhaust for more HP and all of the Knots 2U streamlining mods. How did you miss that on a full rebuild? Very nice but still meh on performance.
Hey, it’s up to the owner. I’m sure he had his reasons. I would’ve if it was mine though!
@@DeadstickAdventures Amazing what all of those mods achieve.🙂
