Does the oil injection lubricate the crank bearing or is it ok to run premix in a Mc1? Thanks!

The oil injection is for the crank and top end . No need for premix . If you want to use premix then you should deactivate the oil injection. Unfortunately it’s not a simple as cutting and blanking the oil tube. The plastic oil pump drive wheel should be removed because the oil pump , with out oil going through it can seize . This will cause the plastic gear the shatter.

@@thirdstone4107 Ok. I have also seen people loop the 2 ports on the injection pump back together with oil in the line. In theory thats supposed to keep recirculating the oil without it going into the engine. Do you have any experience with that?

That might work , as long as the oil does leak over time. You must block off the feed into the crank though to stop it sucking in air.

It’s the crank bearing and piston . You need to run the oil pump or disconnect it and run pre mix. If you disconnect it you should split the engine and pull out the plastic gear that drives the pump. The oil pump can seize and break the gear.
