There is no room for complacency in the NBA off season. Soon to be $34M/season Forward OG Anunoby has played over 50 games ONCE over the last six seasons. In contrast, the oft injured Porzingis has played over 50 games FIVE of the last Six seasons. Re-signing OG is a must regardless of what happens. I have been advocating for Dejounte Murray over the last season. He checks most of the boxes. His contract isn’t too bad. Not sure what it will take. Knicks need to find someone to back up Mitch IF I-Hart is gone. Exciting times for Knick fans!

Dejounte is the move! Thibs can stagger the minutes between him and Brunson by pulling Dejounte early in quarters then letting him run the bench. People forget how good Brunson is efficiency-wise off the ball for all those saying it didn’t work with Trae. Value/Price wise it’s a no brainer!

In the previous years we’ve been in a much worse position going into the off season. I’m really not worried about OG at all, if he wants to go, we’ll take the cap space and move on. Leon has shown that this team will compete no matter what. We can offer OG the most money, so clearly if he doesn’t stay it wasn’t meant to be. This team will be just fine as long as we have Brunson, Thibs and Leon.
The knocks are far worse without OG. They can’t get past Boston, Philly, Minnesota, etc. without him. The position he plays and his skill set are too important and not easy to replace.

We moved on from IQ and RJ. They were not the future of the knicks. The trade worked for the knicks regardless of those guys. I agree that without OG we get cap space and we will work something out. Brunson and cap space will bring in a compliment player for this if its not OG. I love OG and would like to keep him but we cant overpay players.
We want guys that want to be here. Especially after being part of the team. We may not pay him the most but it will be a competitive deal. Take it or leave it.

Mitchell - nah, contract defense and size (especially with current back court).
Hunter - yes
Vucevic - yes if you lose iHART
Caruso - I feel like he would get Josh Hart minutes. Both of those 2 would be redundant

I said it the whole time 4 for 140. 35 per with games played incentives that could make it 4 for 160. If he plays 70 games plus playoffs he’s worth 40. If Jaylen Brown is worth 60 per in the new cap era then OG is worth 40….because Brunson is worth 50.
