Bees are not going extinct. Only the colonies kept by man have declined and that's because they are too close together. The 400 plus kinds of wild bees in my arra are fine.
The risk of bees extinction is not the overlook western Honey bees but the natives bees like stingless bees carpenter bees bumblebees and orchid bees !
Actually you missed the whole point of the bee-extinction. It's about wild and solitary bees, that are going extinct. They are often specialised in the native flora and a lot more effective pollinators than European honey bees.
Well the classic point is about CCD, which is only relevant to honeybees, the vast majority of wild bees do not live in colonies.
Wild bees are dying because of classic problems, mainly pesticides, reduction of wildflowers, and nesting areas.
Great reminders to open up the windows when the weathers warm.
@@stupiddude6824 Maybe take another look at the title and the thumbnail, the topic is supposed to be bee extinction, not CCD.
But you are right, CCD is not relevant to the topic of bee extinction.
Wild pollinators such as Bumblebee etc that's the real problem, without them we are doomed
😮
Farmers DO pay for bees. Every spring you'll see trucks carrying hives to the farms that have paid for them. Sure, neighboring farms benefit, but crop yields are lower on them. I know, I've worked on farms whose crops absolutely depend on bees.
I can't believe you did not mention the Varroa mite at length. Its the "threat" to beekeeping.
the mite is not the primary thing killing bees at all. at all
@@p0tmuffin69 Yeah, the Varroa Mite is the least of the bees' worries.
This will bee an interesting video
I came here to see what all the buzz was about.
Wild pollinators are very important and the effect of intensive agriculture where I live is notable.
Owners of orchards or vegetable growers pay a lot for bees who travel 100's of km.
And as a fun fact: a farmer I knew sold his honey as organic while being surrounded by others who were not.
AAAAAHHHHHH! BEES! NOT THE BEES! - Nicolas Cage
Huh, I should start beekeeping then.
💩 gets messed up in the natural world.
Humans: "Why, oh why🤷♂️"
😂😂😂
How is it that a video discussion about the economics of bees is parked under Visual Politics? A great video nonetheless!
Interesting video.
There’s a difference between data and information
Can somebody make a video on that?
😅
Information = I hate meteorites
Data = 12% of people hate meteorites. Does this work?
Where did you get that shirt?
So… this extinction disaster was just buzz. Pollination bee where the really money is.
Shouldn’t this be on VisualEconomik
A single bee in elephant 🐘 ear can make him crazy mad that's a power of bee.
I don’t quite understand why such an insignificant amount of time was dedicated to wild bees. Is it seriously not a problem according to this channel?
With a platform such as this one, wouldn’t you spend more time educating your audience on the importance of native bees? Otherwise, to me it comes across as “we shouldn’t worry about bees in general.”
Regardless, great video lol
*EXTINCTION*
This needs more conversations between humans and bees. This could start by repealing the Bee Law No.1: AbSOLUteLy NO TaLkiNg To HuMaNs!
Comprehensive. Clover honey on Greek yogurt. Oh look, I have some right here. Mmmm...
Bee Extinction...almost as overblown as Y2K
Same with climate change
Its not that black and white. We have a farmer in the family that has his own bees, kept permanently on the farm.
Ever since i was born i was hearing about Bees Extinction i am 45 years old
Your really believe bees are the one thing that can pollenise plants 😂😂😂 Bees are a big minority in this chapter.
"Science" used to require people to learn about a subject and make observations in the real world. Now, public intellectuals just make abstract mathematical models from their ivory towers and have no interaction with reality. Better yet, as long as they reach the conclusions that their politically well-connected sponsors paid for, their work will be shielded from academic scrutiny. Companies like Philip Morris are far from the only set of deep pockets with agendas that do not coincide with the public good. The practice of laundering bad research through academic journals without legitimate scrutiny will only serve to further topple the public's crumbling faith in our institutions.
just fwy, there are already automated plination robots in use. They are even able to increase yields due to using the best possible polination time.
Bees are not the only pollinators mosquitoes and other does the same thing
feels like this belongs on the econ channel but great nonetheless

RIP man, taken out by his own greed
First off, taking money from a non profit (even well intentioned ones) and then doing a puff piece is no better than taking money from a corporation and doing a puff piece. Have some integrity for gods sake, secondly the bee issue and crop pollination apparently aren’t linked like so many surface level videos imply. Honey bees were struggling and that is serious but they don’t contribute to the bulk of crop pollination, that’s done by wild bees and is a totally different issue and they are not in decline. This video is factually inaccurate, has no integrity due to the sponsor as how can it be an unbiased look at a topic under those circumstances and has seriously dented my trust in anything this channel says going forward.
Most food we eat doesn't need bees
Solve the economic incentive problem by collectivizing agriculture. Now the same organization both grows crops and keeps bees, and can internalize the otherwise external incentives of cooperation.
Honey is for rich people, most of us we can't afford it. Whether is the or not we don't see different
While it is true that Honey is a luxury product bees are important for pollinating crops. Basically the price for vegetables and meat will rise as well.
If you ask a local beekeeper you can get 1kg of honey for around 8-10 euro.. Thats way cheaper price per kg than a lot of other food products you buy.
Bees and crop 🙈🙈🙈🤪🤪😂😂😂 totally wrong Bees are not necessary for crop - only wind is 🎉🎉🎉
You need to watch a video on conifers vs flowering plants.
They gonna say its because Putin won elections or China.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
