I remember in 1986 and walking into The Virgin Megastore in London and seeing a new lp out the Jack dejohnette piano album ! Thought yeah I know that guy from playing on Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett stuff. Now he plays piano ? On drums Freddie Waits and Eddie Gomez on bass ! So I heard that lp and really liked the drumming a lot . Next thing I’m going to Ronnie Scott’s to see Chico Freeman and was double exited to see Freddie Waits with Kenny Barron on piano . Santi Debriano on bass too . What a great gig . Freddie was outstanding
Just watched the Chico Freeman Ronnie Scott’s gig on here , no hexagon crash so don’t know why I thought that ? Well worth watching. Really liked seeing the gig Nasheet did with Andrew Hill in the big church
