      Thanks for the review. It's kind of sad to see any prejudice confirmed, but on the other hand: It is, what it is. No use in a
      sugar-coating it.
      If i was to do a selection for a card like this, i'd certainly look at some well-established profiles. I do like the handcuff thingy though: It probably doesn't open many cuffs, but in a pinch it would be ok. But that's about the only positive thing i can come up with.

      I think the file included on the second set would have been semi useful to smooth up the rough edges on some of those rakes and made picking easier 🙌

    I bought some of these off of a buddy early in my picking-I thought for sure the problems I had using them were due to being a new picker. You make me feel better about not getting them working-though a little worse for spending my money on them!!

  • @jhtsurvival
    @jhtsurvival Před 2 lety

    Guarantee you could use that 1st hook on some locks. If you shortened it up it would work on the master. You could probably modify a couple others to work too...about the second hook I make alot of my picks very small because I like bottom keyway. I use wiper inserts and I barely bend them, they must be close to the size of that 2nd hook. But they must have used shit steel

  • @kneedeepinthedoomed
    @kneedeepinthedoomed Před 2 lety

    I wonder why they didn't just copy a working profile such as a Peterson hook #1 and some wave rake. Pickers don't need much more than 1-2 good hooks and a wave rake. For a tension tool, just give us a 3mm flat strip of metal that we can bend ourselves the way we need it...

  • @chemistryofquestionablequa6252

      @chemistryofquestionablequa6252 Před 2 lety +1

      I keep a few hairpins in my jacket pocket so that if I need picks and don't have any, I can improvise some. I'd do that long before I'd use something like this.

    @FriedPi-mc5yt Před 2 lety

    The first set looks like something they made up for lock picking in a Hollywood movie. Maybe made for some funky Chinese made lock?
    It’s not really that difficult to find actual lock pickers and get their input into designing some usable tools. I’m sure they would do well by using some quality 301 stainless steel first. Then get some basic pick designs that can work. The way those things are, they aren’t really usable. It seems like they are just scamming people who don’t know any better out of their money.

    its a credit card lock picking set, I always saw all of their cards as gimmicks, and to be used in true true emergencies. all their survival ones look cool but they have 9 different signature ones and they all are pretty much the same thing. For US knob locks the card might be OK but if you already know how it's done, you already have a better tool in your wallet for in-swing doors and a pocket knife for out-swing doors.
    Something like this could be done well, but you'll always have too short of a handle to work with which makes it hard for those with experience and near-impossible for those without experience. Fill that wallet space with a real credit card and you'll go a lot further!

    After seeing this, I won't buy anything from grim workshop now.
    Why are you demonstrating junk?
    NOT ONE of those picks was a normal profile, they were all useless things they invented that look like they were made by someone that never picked a lock before and was guessing what a lockpick should look like.
    The one good thing was the sticky backing so you can replace the picks into the card again. I wish my lock master card had that feature.
    I knew what that button push was at first glance, but was amazed that you could use it as a door latch bypass. Now I know in a pinch I could make one out of a used gift card.
