I've always loved this album but since the clean vocal are sang in such a high range I had absolutely no clue that the harsh vocals were done by the same person. This changes the whole album for me. It's insane that you can do both so well.
I first heard hansha in 2019, when I was only in year 9, and seeing this pop up in my feed honestly gave me chills, considering im off to college next year. This album was by all means a cornerstone of my childhood. Thank you Jake🙏
You will love every OAA album. I remember when I first found this band, I fell completely in love, it was the perfect combination of heavy and melodic, their songs gave me peace and energy.
I'm always getting sick of these comments to live shows saying things like "cannot sing", "they should find the better vocalist", etc. Interesting, how many of them have ever tried to perform stuff this kind of difficulty? If I was a vocalist that would hurt me as hell, because what can be worse than fans, that cannot actually comprehend what I want to convey? Jokes aside, Jake. "Hansha" is my very first OAA song. "Hikari" is still my the most-streamed album. I wish health to you and your voice. Thank you for sharing!
@@TheGreatLabowski I guess I wasn’t understood properly. I meant performing live on stage while touring. Voice is such an unstable instrument - you never know when it’s going to let you down. In this video, Jake performed it. Therefore, he can sing. Trying to assault this implication, you will always look like a moron. Because you either don’t value the health of musicians or their music or you’re a person who thinks that we should eliminate all the wood bridges just because they break down after two lorries have crossed them.
Absolutely love it man!! You kicked ass here! And I love the fact that you are sitting haha! I do that often when I record covers or songs :D Cheers from Croatia!
Honestly this was the most complete performance of this song that i heard from you, it was not perfect but still enjoyiable and here we can appreciate your voice and how works on the song, thanks for share this, hope to see you in another Metal Proyect soon
I'm so glad this came up in my recommended man, I've been in love with the song since it came out, you sang it spot on man pretty much not a single note missed, and I know how incredibly hard to sing this song is, you have such a decent control of your head voice. Much respect and you have a new sub!
that was sick. This is my favorite song of OAA and i've always loved your style, your tattoos and ur voice. And yeah it's so high and hard to sing this song. you nailed it here. i love it, u r awesome man.
I am a fan from Thailand And I love you so much, Jake. You are the role model for me to love playing music. And I always tell my friends You are my inspiration every day. I love you. My favorite singer, Jake forever.❤❤❤
Despite the issues you have with Hansha, you absolutely kill it! I only discovered Hikari this year and it quickly became one of my absolute favorite, in part because I thought your voice was really unique and incredible. It drew me in immediately! Looking forward to whatever you're doing, whether it be more covers or chatty videos like the reflection you did on this song, much love💕💕
500th sub for the vocalist of my favorite OAA album (no disrespect to James, he's a killer too). Good on you, both of you, for speaking out about your experiences in the band - doesn't sound like an environment conducive to anybody's wellbeing. Oh, and you still got it, mate. Crushed this one!
i saw the rambling video first and its very encouring for me. im trying to learn how to sing and have been trying for decades. seeing an imperfect take from a song that sounds perfect in the official record (esp talking about the vocals) makes me think less harsh about my own capabilities when it comes to pitch and so on. also, i felt as if i was meant when you said this is for the people who didn't see it live and midway during the video i realized i saw you when you came through dresden, germany some years back performing your hikari setlist. thank you for these little videos. they are helping me getting my hopes up
Late to comment but i didn't even know you had a YT channel. This is an absolutely phenomenal performance! 🔥 I was studying when I saw the upload and decided to check out the band. Hansha is what got me into OAA and Hikari was the first album I listened to from them. So I truly want to say Thank You Subbed to the channel, wishing you the best man. I really missed your vocals, looking forward to more uploads!
Dude, this was truly amazing to see. I was going to cover this song, but it's a little out of my range right now. But I'll get better and get it done 💪
We shook hands and talked a little bit when you came through Richmond, VA at The Canal Club. The crowd started a little boring, you guys slowed down and asked for some movement, so my friends and I started swinging. Might not be in OAA anymore, but I hope to see ya in a metal band one day.
i remember hangin with yall at house of independence in asbury park NJ when you guys were out with wage, varials, and i think gideon? and during the set (i was taking photos) being on side stage taking pictures of chris and just straight vibin to the whole set lol yall killed it live and all of you guys were really nice to hang with - Matt Strickland (if you happen to remember that night)

Is it possible to do more of your older songs like this? I loved your performance here and would like to see more 😊 rock on brother
Hmmm maybe I just will 🤔
@@jakenoakes if you are taking requests I'd love for you to do Entrapment or Birth-Marked
Please 🥺@@jakenoakes
I think I'm more impressed with the screams being so effortless. Huge W.

I discovered OAA only a few months ago and I can affirm that Hansha will be my most listened song of 2024! So happy to hear about you Jake 😊

you can write an essay about this but if you can't sing your songs live don't do impossible things in the studio.

This song for me is so nostalgic and very special, randomly found your channel and this is like a gem! thanks for making this video! ❤
Would love to see you do an old ERRA song man. Anything off Impulse or Augment would fall within your vocal range perfectly.
This was one of my favorite albums of 2017. I liked it so much that I wrote an essay about how good this album is for my spanish class haha
Ah man, this was so great to see/hear :) well done man! Would love to have you on a feature Jake!
That would be cool!
i needed this and didnt even know lol
Nailed it bro🔥

Buen trabajo
Es un crack, ojalá siga dominando su notas altas para escucharlo cada vez mejor
I’d love to see the story and thought process behind Escapist that’s def my fav from you and the band!
You thinking of being in a new band
We shook hands and talked a little bit when you came through Richmond, VA at The Canal Club.

Might not be in OAA anymore, but I hope to see ya in a metal band one day.
Main reason why I started listening to OAA... ✨.. Hikari + Hansha🤘
The cover is amazing, for me this is the best album OAA made.
In another note, that tattoo design behind you on the wall is ... holy! beatuful!
It's not really a cover
3:36 cracked me up
😅
Man you blessed my ears
I don't know if it counts as a cover if you wrote and performed it. But - I think ya still sound top tier. Cheers!
Thank you for the wonderful album!
So fucking sick bro
I have a Hikari CD in my house 😁
Seeing you wear that shirt. I hope to see you and Ryo collab on a song together. He’s always down to work with other artists. ❤
