No matter what, you always do so much more in an hour than I do. I end up staring off into space trying to figure out what to do next. 😊
I love working with packaging. I take the plastic, bubble wrap type and cut into 2 pieces. Then I slide each piece into a paper mailing envelope (inexpensive when bought at the dollar stores if you don't have any to recycle) seal it, fold in half and tada! A squishy journal cover with easy to glue on base. Works well with fabric or paper. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
I have made so many collage covers with Amazon packaging because of you. I save every brown envelope that comes from Amazon lol. Collage was always so intimidating before but you inspired me so much and now I love it so much. So thank you Gayle for the inspiration!
Oh my friend how I have missed you!! I am just getting into the swing of being on summer break and already planning for my last and final year of teaching, 30 years under my belt!! I LOVE using Amazon packaging for inside my covers!! It's the best!! I am putting together a quick prayer journal for a friend of my mom's and just used batting, it's just not the same!! Oh, Gayle, I must agree with you. I love to collage and while I enjoy everything my least favorite would have to be binding. My hubby would say finishing is my least favorite thing. I have a plethora of soon to be finished journals.

I like the crunchy paper Amazon envelopes. I was concerned when they changed from the plastic bubble ones, but the crunch is nice.
I like bugs in art. I’ve alway loved the old master’s paintings of florals arrangements with a bug crawling on the leaf or flower.

I like the crinkle under the fabric, too. This may have convinced me to use fabric rather than collaging on mine. 😉 I wonder if I covered it with one large paper and glued that down to it if that would cause "crinkle loss", too. 🤔

I've saved every paper Amazon mailer I've received over the past year. I was able to make three covers from one large one. I decoupaged them with book pages and napkins. I love how they turned out, but I lost the crunchyness. I love the fabric ideas.

As always love your covers!! I got one of these envelopes the other day, smaller than yours. I actually made a cover with half of it already. Love the way it feels! I don't have a bunch of pretty digitals, so I just collaged random papers, mostly drop paper to mine. Plus some bits of fabric. I forgot about adding corners. I think I have some; I may actually use them.

I covered a hardback book in scraps of black leather this week with glue. Time will tell how this altered book turns out.

My least favorite part is making the covers, I never know exactly what to do. My favorite part is picking the papers for the pages and making some of the pages digitally if I don’t have any digital‘s. Right now I’m working on a camera/photography journal and I have no digital‘s in that theme so I’ve been making things which really takes a lot of time but I enjoy that part. One of these days I’m going to make a journal like you do, I’m going to pick a digital and make it all out of that digital, I don’t think I’ve ever done that. I just usually use a little bit from this digital, a little from that one, a little from this one, and mix them all up. I think when I finish this one I’m going to do a more girly feminine one which is not me but I don’t hate. I have some dollhouse wallpaper for the cover so it really sounds like I need a digital from Ruby and Pearl XO or Chapter One, or Taylormade Journals. I need to finish this one before I think about the next one.
