    This one is the last video on the additional course from my online course. The topic is about some tips when we train Peng in the forms. Peng is expanding Jin, but you cannot perform Peng by pushing your arms and force forward yet expanding your internal space backward.

    I really understood what was said in this video. I do Wing Chun and refer to peng as center mass. Awesome!

  • @LupinFootballDevelopmentClub

    That is the clearest practical explanation of Peng that I have heard. This explanation would also be practical for brazilian jujitsu practitioners. For example, how do you create space when someone has pushed you up against a wall. Also I live in Niagara, Canada. Lately I have seen more attacks aimed at people, limiting and restricting free speech, undermining rights, the list goes on. Peng as you’ve demonstrated works in theory about these ad hominem attacks on men and women caught in the cross fire. Excellent video! I will share this for sure.

      If you have trained your internal coŕrectly weather your arm is close or near its all done internally, he's been trained very good, he's explaining the usage of the form, as you can touch any part of his body & he can release his energy, he may even have energy wechi that he can send out without being near you.

    Very interesting insights into peng energy. One could spend a lifetime delving into the depths of Taiji principles. Start by relaxing - this in itself can take many years and is ongoing. Many beginners find it difficult to relax sufficiently at first, so loosening is an important part of training. Peng opening and roundness, as explained here, can be very helpful in getting the joints to open more - the key is doing this without force of any kind.

      @user-fm8sb6gb3g Před 11 měsíci

      The aim of relaxing is to maximize the Peng. They are not two separate steps! If someone told you to relax but without mention Peng, he/she doesn’t really know taiji.

      @markdonovan1540 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@user-fm8sb6gb3g In my limited experience, most students don't understand words like "peng", or even "ward off". It has to be felt. In order to feel these "energies" we have to start by letting go of tension and relaxing. It's not necessarily that they are separate steps, rather they are part of a learning process. However, some students, including myself, still have a lot of work to do in order to really grasp what Tai Chi is all about. We can only learn by following the guidance and instruction given to us by our teachers and the experience we get from training with other people. Online tips can help some people, but for others it can be confusing if they haven't yet felt what it is within themselves.

    Thank you Liang for this video. Actually, I discovered those two things already, by myself, especially the coccyx (for peng). But I liked your advice for the spine (for hua). That was helpful. And, yes, I have also found these to be powerful in a mindful, self-correcting, way. No excess. No trying. Just connecting, stretching inside. But, I wonder if you could talk about 'close' or 'closing' because that is one thing I don't know yet, although I have some clues. It was very exciting to see that you also know the same things!

As always you are very clear in the details, even if understand and know how to apply is not so easy... but this is the beautiful of taichi.A request for you if possible, could better explain how AN works? I have heard many time that Peng li chi an are all connected, but in my mind is not clear.

    Dear Sifu could you please add some information with respect to the effect of the position of knee with respect to heel, namely vertical alignment or incline to front or back. On pictures of Cui YiShi postures mostly than Yang Chengfu it seams that the knee is in a vertical direction with heel and sometimes even back of heel. On Cui YiShi mostly the front leg is inclined backward. Many thanks in advance, Rui Costa

      Well I would go as far to say nobody can teach you anything. You have to learn everything yourself. However it's nice to have a guidance for pointing you to the right direction. Saves a lot of time. Saying that I actually believe I understand what Liang is trying to explain here and not because I think I understand but because of years of training and my own experience. So I myself found this video very inspirational and will try to pay more attention to these aspects during my training. I guess for some people it might be rather distraction. In any case I kind of agree with you that trying to learn tai chi from youtube is a terrible idea. :)

      Yet there is a lifetime of study needed in addition to live instruction, so using online instruction is simply wise for most approaching the arts.
      The argument that online tuition is not complete is moot
