Cult favorite Steve Buscemi talks about his admiration for John Cassavetes in an interview conducted during the press junket for his film "Lonesome Jim." When asked about his other influences, he surprised me by bringing up the master of deadpan, the king of smoking/drinking/rocking, Mr. Aki Kaurismaki.

Most of the things I've heard of coming from Finland, well, from what I understand, your beloved country is not exactly a mecca for culture.
