Thanks Ben, I just did a whistlestop tour of the western US, but spent a good 7 hours in Arches NP getting all the Indie shots, muchly thanks to your video!
@@jovialgent9963 THIS IS AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE SEQUENCE NOW I WANT TO GO AND VISIT THESE LOCATIONS FOR MYSELF!! THANK YOU!!
That's a beautiful park to visit. I was there a few years ago. I had not idea they shot that movie there. Can't imagine what it cost to get permission to shoot in a National Park.
Glenn Maddock agreed. And I think when your names are Spielberg or Lucas you can do pretty much whatever you want! Took me forever to find the horse jump scene - filmed just west of and outside the park.
interesting work, it is appreciated how the filming masters used the rule of thirds. Note the difference in optics used. Is a spectacular intro in the history of cinema, I think.
I just did a tour of Arches and MV. MV was a dissapointment after Arches. Don't get me wrong, MV is SPECTACULAR, trully amazing in every way, but if you see it after Arches, it's a bit of a let down (relatively speaking only LOL)
IT’s honestly hard to fully appreciate this if you haven’t been to the park. It really is a very fun and amazing place and Utah is one of the most beautiful states in the US.

Dang it. I went to Monument Valley. I thought Last Crusade was filmed there. Oh well, now I gotta visit Arches National Park.

Haha! This was good!
Some of your photos are better exposed than the film. But climate change can also be clearly seen here. Or were your recordings taken in the summer?
Visited/filmed in ealry September 2019. Roughly 30 years after the movie’s production time in Moab.
2:33-2:38 it’s good it’s not filmed in the real caves.
