astrodonunt has another excellent Stronger Than You cover called "wawa kin" that you can find here: • Stronger Than You cove...
Late in my editing process, I watched that video to make sure I wasn't retreading their ground... only to discover that I'd viewed it once before in January 2020, about a month after discovering jan Misali's channel and well over 2 years before I made any serious attempt to learn toki pona. Huh. Well, I can say with certainty that their translation didn't influence mine, because I clearly had no idea what I was seeing or hearing back then. - Zábava
Love this! You have a really clear voice, and there's some lines here that are like, damn why didn't I think of that XD
Oh hey, it’s you! Thank you so much for checking this out!
As you might have already read in the video description, I likely took subconscious inspiration from your cover-I listened to it long before learning toki pona, and then forgot about it for years until I was midway through my own recording process. But I think the differences in our translations speak to the inherent versatility and creative charm of the language :)
I just went back and listened to your cover again; you have an incredible singing voice, and I love that you hew quite closely to the original lyrics while still finding unique turns of phrase throughout the song. pali pona mute!
