I relate to Courtney being left by her parents. One time my mom forgot me in a mall bathroom when I was little because it was me, my brother three of my cousins, one of my friends, and my brother’s girlfriend in one group
I once had the opposite problem. My mum wanted to check out a store at the mall real quick but knew it was too busy and hectic to take me in. There was a clown entertaining kids right in front of the store so she told me to stay with the clown. She didn't know the clown would move to another store, I didn't know I shouldn't have followed him.
