You could say it the other way around and it still makes sense
I think the whole set up for Courtney was the pitch from the Smosh team to Chris' management/PR from the start, because they know it is a wholesome fan interaction moment that may Chris Pratt fan's are going to project themselves into and live vicariously. This is a great promo opportunity plus it makes one person in particular (and many more by proxy) really happy.

I know this is 5 yrs old but I had to say this. I was going through a patch of depression and was just feeling like crap. As soon as Chris Pratt on and both Olivia and Courtney both start fan-girling out I was laughing.
