- Two danseuses and doyens of yesteryear cinema come together to dance at a local festival in Maharashtra. Watch Hema Malini and Meenakshi Seshadri in a scintillating dance performance.
Pune festival is held between August and September during Ganesh Mahotsav. It is the biggest festival in Pune. The festival goes for ten days - starts with the installation of idols of Lord on the first day to the immersion of the Lord's idols on the tenth day.
Pune festival is mainly emphasized on the celebration of art and culture, song and dance, custom and tradition. It was started as a local event but now has succeeded to attract visitors from across India and abroad. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation joining hand with the Union government actively promotes the festival abroad as a major tourist attraction.
Classical dance, music recitals, film, drama festival, automobile rallies and traditional sports are held as a part of the festival. Maestros and stalwarts from all over India are invited to perform during the festival. The denizens of Pune and also the visitors from outside enjoy the event with fullest during the celebrations.
Modern sports events shop for exquisite textiles and handicrafts, appetizing cuisine are some of the new additions since the past few years.
Pune is well connected by air, rail and road with the important places within and beyond the state. Accommodations are available at the hotels in Pune.

@Nidhi I have seen both of them performances no doubt hema is good dancer but meenakshin is the only trained dancer,anyone who understand dancing can easily tell meenakshi is perfect. But unfortunat she never got her due.

Guys Meenakshi ma'am is dancing pure Bharatnatyam, hema g is dancing more of kuchipudi.. both might look similar but are very different styles. Both are graceful and talented in their respective dance forms.
Hema Malini is doing some Bollywood fusion dance.
I think Meenakshi is performing Kuchipudi. Her foot stomps are stronger than the one you see in Bharatnatyam. Also, the costume is more Kuchipudi-esque.

I think our culture is demotivated or suppressed in bollywood. Ask the new generation whether atleast they know the name of our dance form. We used to see and love this dance form when it was telecasted on Doordarshan.

Meenakshi is so graceful in all her dances. This is true love for Indian classical dances. She was seen performing in a lot of such local and national dance festivals including the pious Puri festival while she was in India. These two are so unlike Madhuri who has commercialized dancce and uses it to only earn money. Her channel shows teachers teaching Bollywood dances only.

it happens when your movies are average and music of your movies bad. Minaxi's movies like most 80s movie did not have good music, Madhuri 's rise was accompanied by good music , Madhuri's movies had very good music, she got good dances . Madhuri's rise was on the cost of Sridevi and Meenaxi both. Padmini kolhapure was a far better actress than Sridevi, but Sridevi was someone who gave strong competition to male rivals, it happens . One should feel lucky to have got good movies ,music and director
