    Arangetram is done after a dancer reaches a certain stage of mastery over her craft. It is done paying homage to her Gurus and parents. I do appreciate the Ambani family taking forward the tradition of this beautiful art form, but it is quite clear that apart from her beautiful face, her whole posture lacked the discipline of Bharatnatyam. She has a long , long way to go.

      Yes I do agree with you. As a student of Indian classical dance I know how long it takes to master the art of dance. Her posture, her movements, her mudras they still need a lot of improvement. Her dances still needs a lot of finishing. Only giving expressions won't make anything.

    She has a good face for camera and emotions, ambani can launch her in movies.
    But bharatnatyam, can't be bought with money. Only the ones blessed by the goddess get that grace and mudras after years of sadhana and abhyas.
    Good to see Indian culture being hyped and promoted and that's a big plus.

    To all the ppl giving her positive critisism thanks for being respectful for her efforts and not to mention i just read yesterday somewhere that she is learning since around 2016-2017 so def she has a long way to go but she's def giving the most possible efforts.

    • @Jiji_here_431
      @Jiji_here_431 Před 2 lety +27

      I guess the criticism is arriving because one two reasons, one that Arangetram is done when the disciple has completed the mastery over the dance form and does it to pay homage to her guru/s. It's achieved after years and years sometimes upto 2 decades of training to achieve that mastery over the dance form. Though mastery can be achieved within 5-6 years it requires immense dedication and practice. Radhika started learning around 2016-17 which is barely 6 years and as one can see she is yet to perfect the art form so having an Arangetram makes no sense. Secondly she's to be daughter in law of the Ambani's so unnecessary media coverage as well as the extreme grandeur for someone who is at best mediocre at her art rn.

      Within 6 years of continuous learning, one can gain perfection in Bharatanatyam. Probably she was learning other classical forms along with Bharatanatyam and chose to do Bharatanatyam arangetram. Her Bharatanatyam still needs a lots to go. Some expressions were good but there is no perfection in the mudras.

    A lot of people say a lot things here. However, I grew up watching bharatnatyam and know what I'm saying. I think her abhinay is beautiful and footwork is strong. Her postures...her ang needs a lot of improvement. I'm unable to see a sense of proportion in her body which only comes with better dance postures. I hope it comes with time and practice. Her araimandi can also get deeper. She needs to practise more and especially watch other senior bharatnatyam dancers perform. The piece in the orange costume was relatively better. Kudos to her for how she took the pressure of such a grand show and her passion for the dance. This is just an arangetram and not a big deal unlike some people say. Dancers always grow. These days there is a lot of hype around arangetrams. Although I have seen better arangetrams honestly I think this was good enough for an arangetram/debut. Some aspects of this art take years to master. Keep going and never stop.

      Disagree. As a dancer and a teacher, of my student is on this level, I will send her to junior examinations.. Not arangetram. Body is heavy, posture is sloppy.

    • @lovereachable
      @lovereachable Před 2 lety +2

      @@sundarihema25 Right. Postures are definitely bad. Like I said, I couldn't find any sense of proportion in her body. Araimandi can also be better. Also, I have a feeling she's bending her knees forward instead of flexing them outward in the araimandi sqat, at some points (not talking about the sabari character here...i mean even otherwise). The bent knee araimandi posture should also be deeper...she can afford to sit deeper...relative to her height. I hope she takes home a lesson from this. Just a hope...because everyone who came for the performance must have praised her. Who wants to hurt her family's ego? I wrote what I did because youth taking to classical arts itself is a good sign I think.

      @@lovereachabletrue , it's nice to see Indian classical forms being appreciated . May b they should have not called it an arangetram. Then people would have just watched her and appreciated her efforts . With the word arangetram , lot of expectations come in. It is a presentation from the Guru by the student, etc etc , if you don't think Bharatanatyam arangetram and look at it, then we can appreciate it more.
      They should also think, imagine organising an amazing event, telecasting all over world with so much hype and performing garba or dandiya wrongly . How would they feel.

I have seen farrrr skilled dances in their arangetrams....her hips below seemed weak...classical is rigid at most times. Your feet when doing aramandams has to be close together....i felt her feet were wide apart and idk her movements were too fluid. I dont know what i calll this show as???
