    I am Chinese. In 2008 I was in arena. I watched the first game, which is China vs United states. You know NBA is very popular in China. A lot of Chinese fans wears LakersHeatCavaliers jersey to the court. Because people love the NBA people loves the culture connection between China and the USA. We support both team. People choose a smart way, Because they were not wear China or USA jersey. That's the highest respect for other countries team. NBA probably the most important US culture in China. Also, In the opening ceremony. When the picture moved to Kobe's faceThe whole nest Sports center were crazy and everyone was super exciting and pay their respect to Kobe. Time passed so fast. I still can't believe kobe passed away. It's such a great loss Not only for American people, but also for Chinese people. Sports can always inspire people to move on. I hope all the kobe's fans can Learn the mamba mentality And keep moving. Inspire the people around you. We shouldn't lose this connection.
    RIP Kobe.

    I loved watching this video after the 2012 Olympics ended. It was amazing to see Kobe just being so genuine and just so happy about his Olympic experience. Just amazing to see this raw emotion come out and the competitiveness in the Olympics for gold and to be the best. They did the USA so proud and proved that USA basketball is still great. What a leader Kobe was and still is. He is dearly missed and USA could not have done this without him. Kobe was just simply the best there was and ever will be. The loss is immense and will be felt forever. Remember Kobe forever.

    Kobe is a killer! I remember right before the 3min mark, Spain went on a 10-2 run, trying desperately to catch up. Rudy Fernandez postered Dwight and hit a 3 next possession. The Spanish fans were going crazy in the stands and trying to hype up the team. But the next play, Kobe hit the three for a And1 4 point play. When he made that shot and put his finger to his mouth to give everyone in the stands the “Shhh” gesture, That gave me chills. It was like he was telling everyone “Stop all the creaming, they are not winning this game!” Crowd went dead silent

I know what you mean though. Dirk Nowitzki is my basketball idol. And while he isn't really doing much these days(at least like what he used to), the league and the Mavericks for me just wont be the same either once he retires. Kobe was the main catalyst to Team USA reclaiming the gold, he set the tone and they followed his lead. If he was not a part of that team, Spain wins the gold... it's that simple.

  • @armin38822
    @armin38822 Pƙed 4 lety +1

    By far the best thing about team USA is how they actually play team basketball. A lot of other national teams have problems with their superstar players. But not USA. Coach K was able to get all of them on the same page. Incredible work from coaches and players.

    The rumor was Coach K and Kobe were needed cuz Lebron made the practices too relaxed and not professional....so they recruited Kobe to show everyone how to practice and work hard.
    Note all the players praised Kobe for his work ethic after those Olympics.

      "Rumor"...possibly created by Kobe's people to heighten his "greatness" even further? Similar to how, from 2009-2011, he'd start each season shooting 50+% from the field, but once his shooting percentage fell, his people leaked "injuries" that apparently caused the plummet. lol

      +Twokings13 I agree, I think that's a bit unfair dropping all the blame on him. I think the reason the USA lost in 2004 was their preparation was almost non-existent, throwing a team of inexperienced players together at the last minute and putting them against teams who've been playing together for years was a recipe for disaster, the signs were there in 2000 when they almost lost on three occasions that their dominance was under serious threat.
