Really cool looking calendar. My main issue is Monaco's placement. I get wanting to group races by region but Monaco being on the late may weekend with the Indy 500 and coke 600 is too iconic to remove imo. If it was bumped up to one of the earlier races during the European leg it could probably work still though. Possibly could go after turkey or even right before Monza to make the travel work.

Overall, a wonderful calendar with many wonderful and iconic races. My personal list:
GPs I want to see return:
    - Sepang
    - Istanbul
    - Shanghai (might return in 2024)
    - Fudji (alternating with Suzuka)
    - Hockenheim/Nürburgring (preferably alternating as well, also hot take, the new Hockenheim Ring may lack the iconic forest section, but it's actually better for racing)
GPs that must stay in the calendar:
    - Melbourne (as opener)
    - Bahrain
    - Baku
    - Monza
    - Monaco
    - Spa
    - Zandvort
    - Silverstone
    - Red Bull Ring
    - Austin
    - Interlagos (as finisher)
    - Hungaroring
    - Montreal
I think a season should have between 20 and 22 races max, that would leave 2-4 places for more GPs in my lineup.
    Possible candidates:
    - a Spain Grand Prix: I could live with either Valencia, Jerez or even keeping Catalunya as the finally dropped that hideous chicane.
    - a Portuguese Grand Prix: I could live with both Estoril or Portimao
    - a Mexican Grand Prix: I'm not the biggest fan, but it's also not the worst of the Grand Prixes I threw out
    - an Indian Grand Prix: Budh or what it's called looks very interesting
    - An Africn Gran Prix: Africa deserves 1 Grand Prix at the very least, Kailamy would have to be upgraded, but it should be possible.
    - I'm also open to let any of the races I threw out back in as a filler, I just don't need them all in one season
And let's address the elephant in the room. No French Grand Prix? Blasphemy, I know, but I just don't see a track in France that is currently tier 1 and suitable for F1. Paul Ricard is a great test track, but absolutely hideous for racing, I think we are all happy it's gone. And I have some fond Memorys of Many Cours as well, but the actual races were pretty boring there. The Mans 24h la Sarthe track is trash for F1 obviously and the Bugatti circuit would have to be updated and is pretty boring as well. Rouen hasn't seen a race in like 50 years. One track that might have potential is Dijon, but it would have to be updated as well. Or we cheat a bit an call either Monaco, Zandvort or Spa the French GP.

Only seen this video the first time just there (due to the circuit video from today) but I really liked your take on an ideal calender and I always enjoy seeing others takes on this kinda thing. I made my own"dream calendar" a while back too. Maybe should have thought a little more about the travel arrangements so on but I'd be happy with that order personally and left gaps to show things as not double headers etc

    18. Monaco
    19. Jerez (odd choice maybe for present era cars like you said)/Valencia/Aragon
    20. Montreal
    21. COTA/MotoGP layout Indianapolis (to shake things up, also to add to the anticlockwise course list)
    22. Hermanos Rodriguez
    23. Termas de Rio Hondo

Amazing calendar! I would swap Valencia with Aragon, I would add Zandvoort and maybe find a different track for France because both Magny Cours and Paul Ricard are not great for me. I would love to see a comeback of Rouen Les Essarts, fast track of the 60's with a good amount of elevation changes and through a forest (also would be Gasly's home race... literally because he's from Rouen) but it would need considerable amount of investment for modernization and safety because it was last raced in 1993 with touring cars . The last version of the track in the opposite direction would be pretty cool! Otherwise I would like also Dijion Prenois, but maybe it's a bit too short for modern F1.

I kind of want a track with a vertical loop. I know it doesn't exist yet, and it would be extraordinarily expensive to build, but I do honestly believe it is technically possible. You'd have to build it taller than the Eiffel tower to keep the G-force in check (F1 cars are a lot faster than rollercoasters), which would be awesome. Could also be the highest top speed in F1 history, especially if you turn it into a free DRS zone where you can always use DRS even if nobody is ahead (to save the suspension somewhat as well, as with aerodynamic downforce on top of the G-force it could load the suspension with up to 10 times the regular stationary car weight, a huge load for the suspension). It would be awesome to see these cars come down a descent over 300 meters (or 1000 ft) high at close to 400 km/h.

    @KC1996LFC Před 11 měsíci

Much better than what we currently have. My only suggestion would be the addition of ‘rotating’ races like we had under the banner of the European GP.
I’d give 2 Asian GPs to be split among Shanghai, Buddh, Fuji and Singapore (and for you + Thailand)
I’d combine Portimao and Catalunya into a rotating ‘Iberian’ GP
I’d give a European slot to be rotated amongst the likes of Zandvoort, Hockenheim, Magny-Cours - classic European tracks.
Bahrain should get a slot anyway, Abu Dhabi and Jeddah + which ever oil state is inevitably going to join next can rotate
I’d consider giving an ‘Americas’ race to Buenos Aires + ONE more USA track, mainly for flexibility.
And finally we need an African GP. If Kyalami is the only one then fine. Otherwise rotate it

    • @LawVS
      @LawVS  Před 11 měsíci

I did think about that, but then it would've gotten a little bit long-winded. But rotating some tracks is a fair solution.

    • @KC1996LFC
      @KC1996LFC Před 11 měsíci

@@LawVS Yeah yours is a dream 'season', would be a bit of a cop-out to list like 30 tracks to be used over 2/3 seasons haha. I think rotating is the only solution to the congestion we have, there are lots of 'meh' tracks that aren't classics like Monza/Silverstone/Spa and don't consistently provide great/good races like Austria/Canada/Bahrain/COTA, where if they fell off the calendar for a year I don't think fans would mind, but if they disappeared forever it would be sad. I'd classify Magny-Cours, Hockenheim and Sepang at that level. They had the odd classic and Sepang had the unpredictability of the weather but they were never in anyone's top 5 and had plenty of meh races. Now they've been off the calendar for a few years we miss them. Imo only the worst of the worst tracks (Sochi, Valencia, Korea) should disappear and never be seen again.
The rotating calendar would also create competition and incentive to improve your track (like Albert Park) as it could be the difference between your track being rotated and getting a permanent slot. I'd have 6/7 locks that never change and the rest are either on 5-10 year permanent contracts or in rotation.

I get the history and the nostalgia of monaco but its really not suited for modern F1. Other circuits need to put in a lot of effort to be grade 1 ready whilst monaco hasnt done much at all. The only way i'd be ok with it is if they get rid of chicane after the tunnel, have a sharp turn before the swimming pool chicane, and then get rid of the swimming pool chicane so that they go straight to the hairpin.

    Additional information:
    - Amount of teams: 12 (24 drivers, Q1 is 7 out, Q2 is 7 out, Q3 is 7 out and then there is a One-Shot-Qualifying with the top 3)
    - Name of the teams: Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi, Alpine, Aston Martin, Williams, Andretti, Porsche, Corvette, McLaren & Toyota
    - Amount of races: 22 (8 in Asia, 1 in Africa, 9 in Europe & 4 in Americas)
    - Testing circuit: Malaysia (5 days in February)
    - Sprint weekends: Bahrain, Germany, UK, Indianapolis & Brazil (100 km with a mandatory pit stop on Saturday and top 15 get points)

    - Race in Japan will be switched between Suzuka & Fiji
    - Race in Spain will be switched between Catalunya & Jerez
    - Race in Germany will be switched between Hockenheim & Nurburgring
    - The summer break is in May to compensate for the 24 hours of Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco GP event

I'm 7 months late to the party but here's my calendar😅. It's not the whole calendar it's jus my ins and outs and any track I don't include I'm keeping. And the ins and outs are coordinated so when there's an out the next in is wht I'd replace it with meaning roguely is were I'd put it in the calendar but not the exact position, jus beginning middle and end
    Miami: Out
Kinda crap if I'm honest the 2 yrs we've had it and honestly we don't need anymore street tracks see Miami's gone
    Malasiya: In
The first ever race and track I watched so I have a massive soft spot for it and would probably be my favourite track on the calendar if it was on there. And I think it could be an interesting race with these cars and going into the new regs:
    Las Vegas: Out
Could be controversial mainly cause we've only seen 1 race there and it was alright but I take it out because there's jus better tracks then Las Vegas tht could and arguably should replace it
    Kylami: In
Criminal we don't have a South African GP especially when they have the have track for it. Needs to be on the calender
    Abu Dhabi: Out
Although the tracks improved it still doesn't deserve to be the last race on the calender and arguably shouldn't be on the calender
    Hockemheimring/Nurburgring: In
I'd have this as part of the last stretch of the calender like the last 10 races and weather it's Hockenhiem or Nurburg I'm not sure. Take u pick
    Catalunya: Out
I think it's jus because of testing the racing's bad so thts y I swap it out. And tbf there's jus better tracks then it
    Turkey: In
Race was good last time although admittedly with the last regs in 21 but I think the racing would be good here with these regulations and the next ones. Shouldn't be as slippery 😅
    Shanghai: Out
I don't really want to replace it but I jus don't want or need 25 races on the calendar so shanghai gas to give way for me but I am looking forward to the race this year
    Portugal: In
If I've got this correct China is near the start of the calender and is where I'd put the Portuguese circuit cause I do think it's better the shanghai track and don't get me wrong like I said before I wouldn't necessarily replace it I jus don't want 25 races on the calender, 24's to many already so I thought shanghai was the best option.
(Tell me if I've missed any ins or outs)
