I remember reading somewhere that the co-director of this film didn't like the plot and the way the old villains were treated and she wanted to go for a bit of a darker tone but they ignored her complaints and instead trusted the main director of the film who is the guy that made Alvin and the Chipmunks chip-wrecked and trolls. great choice dreamworks 👏

just another cash grab movie.. ugh. DreamWorks really falling apart.
It's not like the original was very "Original" your typical nobody entering an epic journey to beat the scary bad guy with little to no hope of succsess, but prevailing through friendships made along the way and hard work.
A story does not need to be original to be good, but it does need heart and brain from a director to make it "FEEL" original.
These kinds of movies are the ultimate form of disappointments, because it's always better to be bad then forgettable.
That’s a fair point, and I understand your reasoning.
However, saying these kinds of movies are disappointing I’ll disagree with. The reason the trilogy is held with high esteem is because they’re layered in authenticity and nuance that enriches its world and characters within the story. Yeah, the story is basic (even tho 2 is very mature) but we’re here for the worldbuilding, characters, and animation. The 4th has none of these qualities. The story doesn’t make sense, causing many of the scenes to feel pointless and not worth watching.
I don’t understand why people keep watching these types of movies WE COULD TELL FROM THE GET GO( first trailer or mention of this movie) that this is what it was gonna be. Most companies are just making shiii specifically to make money of preexisting characters. Very clear they never have and won’t care about what we actually want. They make movies to advertise toys to children lol.
I totally agree, but as someone who watched it, I can say that I understand why people do. It’s because the original series was so nuanced and taken care of, many people hope that the 4th would recapture that energy. It’s a psychological thing that many people fall victim to, it’s what happens with the Toy Story franchise, Indiana jones, etc

Kung fu panda 4 feels short compared to kung fu panda 1 and 2 i think its because its boring that i forgot some of the scenes

To me, the movie just feels like they were looking for clips to put a trailer for a movie together instead of ACTUALLY making a movie. Considering how well thought out and (as you mentioned) nuanced the stories of the original trilogy of kung fu panda were, you can definitely feel the utter lack of it in KFP 4.
Also, idk if it's just me, but I swear (of what I've seen) every movie Awkwafina's in ends up being bad. Can't tell ya how sad I got when I saw she was in KFP 4, got a bad feeling about the movie from that point on.
I watched it with my friends and we made fun of it every second of every minute, one of them even hit the griddy in disbelief of how bad the movie was

Don’t compare Cars 3 to this. Cars 3 actually cared and felt like the correct way to do the passing of the torch.
Cars 3 was one of the worst ways to end a trilogy…. The moral of the story was to give up when things get hard…

I have no desire to watch KFP 4, I hated KFP 3 myself and from what I’m seeing 4 is worse. I loved the first two movies though.
Its suck because this plot concept is incredibly cool. Po moving onto the next level as a spiritual leader training the next dragon warrior and having to face the villains from his past is amazing, sadly Tai Lung is barely used and Shen and Kai don't even speak. That ending with them all accepting Po would've been more deserved had they actually done something, and I'm sorry but Po does not have any relationship connection with the fox thing it doesn't feel like a friendship forming, just 2 people who happen to be stuck together, and we can't forget the mid voice acting done by her. This movie had so much potential and even a great concept.

Yeah , Kung Fu panda 4 were alright film , but it FEELS could been better and seems lost potential .

Yes it is a bad movie they completely slapped the furious 5 in the face especially tigress having a character who just got introduced become dragon warrior over her and not to mention an extremely lackluster villain
Yeah the movie felt like a TV show episode with a higher budget behind it.
Hopefully they can get back on their feet with the 5th installment by actually listening to the creative team's criticism and improving the quality as, you know, a team
