I Watched and Ranked EVERY Mad Max Movie...(Including FURIOSA)

- With Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga coming out this past weekend, I took the opportunity to watch all of the Mad Max movies in the franchise...since...there's a whole trilogy from the 80s starring Mel Gibson I had never seen before. So in today's video, I break down all the Mad Max movies and give my thoughts and rankings of each film from the original Mad Max to Furiosa...
-
Movies Included:
Mad Max, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Mad Max 3: Thunderdome, Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
-
Furiosa Synopsis:
Snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by the Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in a nonstop battle to make her way home.

Cast:
Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Mel Gibson, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Tina Turner
Everyone has a right to their own opinion but Thunderdome over Road Warrior is pure blasphemy.
I actually like Thunderdome better from the three.
he's young, raised by disney and all that
Thunderdome felt like an Indiana jones movie, but I actually loved it and think it’s underrated as hell. Not as good as road warrior, but close.
Thunderdome is the clear weakest film in the franchise. It reduced the violence down to PG-13 and had a very convoluted plot. The Road Warrior is the best of the original three.
Agree, it's a really bad take.
I also feels like he significantly underrates the original, as well, but I at least understand his reasons for that (and if you weren't raised on bare-bones exploitation cinema of the '70s, it's easy to not be on the same wavelength as that one).
Thank you! I'm getting sick of all these Furiosa reviews from people who haven't seen the movie or know the history of the Mad Max franchise.
I love/hate when 'people' say a movie is a flop when all they take into account is the budget and opening sales. Movie-goers don't care! Waterworld lost so much money, but still one of my favorites to this day.
@@courtney5796 Ya I'm hearing a lot about how Furiosa was the "worst memorial day weekend movie in decades" yet it was the most successful of the weekend so that's not really a fail of Furiosa's part but of movies on memorial weekend as a whole.
I don't get why everyone's singling out Furiosa. It's like they are treating it like it's a massive franchise like something from Marvel or DC. When Mad Max as much as I love it, has never really been a big draw at the theaters. It's more of an at drive-in type movie.
I loved Fury Road but I also understand that it's just a glorified car chase movie with a bunch of explosions and crashes to some people and not everyone into that. Hence the name Fury Road.
There are tones of amazing movies out there that didn't do well at the box office for whatever reason.
@@BMovieTheater it's weird because all the reviews from ppl I trust are off like you can tell they didn't go see it irl
@BMovieTheater
Well I saw it, twice…….. and it’s definitely the 5th best movie of the 5 in the “mad max universe”……. And please by all means attempt to tell me it isn’t. And a hint for you, I actually enjoyed the latest installment………. 😉
Now if you want to talk about the “Mad Max franchise” or the “history” of it, by all means, let’s discuss it and I’ll gladly explain why you are completely wrong…… 😉
@@bkh8528 It's a good movie and based on the reviews I think most of the people that actually saw it enjoyed it as well. Problem is with any newer movie in a franchise many fans will often either go overboard praising it or throw it under the bus. As much as I enjoyed the movie, I would rank it only above Beyond Thunderdome. I didn't like some of the CGI in the movie. It felt like it belonged more in a Marvel movie than a Mad Max movie.
i don’t think you’re entirely wrong about the first film, but i also think you’ve missed a bit of context. no, it’s not an amazingly powerful story or anything, but this was also the first feature length film George Miller ever made. it also wasn’t even supposed to take place in the future, but the budget wouldn’t allow for the production to get permits to shut down roads in the city of Melbourne, therefore they had to take it to the outskirts and countryside. the biker gang was an actual biker gang that was paid barely anything to be in the film, and much of their actions were improvised. again, it doesn’t all come together for the most memorable STORY, but Max as a universal archetype struck audiences worldwide which is what made it a hit, and even made the future films possible. i just think the film deserves its fair bit of respect considering its from a completely inexperienced cast and crew and made on wildly minimal budget. sure, aesthetically it feels a bit disjointed from the rest of the franchise, but it was never supposed to be a franchise, and was a miracle that it was anywhere near as successful as it became.
also as a side note, the helicopter pilot played by Bruce Spence is not the same character as the airplane pilot in Beyond Thunderdome. it’s basically a running theme of the franchise at this point to have actors return as completely different characters without explanation. it has happened more than twice throughout the series.
Yep, Lauchie Hulme and Elsa Pataky play 2 different main characters in the same film
@@xkimopye had no idea until someone pointed it out to me
Toecutter from MM is immortan Joe in fury road.
Absolute man of culture. I’ve seen so many phonies saying “Mad Max 1 is the best.” Like bro… nobody is watching the OG Mad Max and saying it’s better than Road Warrior, Fury Road, etc..
WHAT IM SAYIN!
I agree, but saying Thunderdome is better than any of them, ESPECIALLY Road Warrior, is equally defective
I liked the first one better than Thunderdome.
I think mad max 1 is the best. It's in my top 10 movies ever.
I like it because it’s pre apocalypse. There is not one pre apocalypse movie as popular as Mad Max 1 and 2. With Mad Max, if you start at 1 you get to see the decline of society. If you start at 2 you get a bit of that since it’s before the bombs drop but it already has had a societal collapse for the most part.
Mad Max Road Warrior was my favorite movie as a kid
It’s a great one 👏🏻
Road Warrior and Thunderdome are the best the rest are about the same
the XB GT Coupe is what drew many men to Mad Max my brother was offered a wrecked GT Coupe and fixable from the mad max 2 movie back in the 80s. and my old rwc mechanic did a lot of the cars form fury road hung out at his workshop to watch him work on them.
I love the video finally someone appreciating furiosa, also you're so real for the edit about anya being married 😭
shit kills me bro 🥲
@@DyliciousTakes i feel u bro I've known for a while i felt the same 😭
Wow, you actually watched all 5 films?!
Most people are making 20 minute videos and haven't seen any of the films. They just cry that Disney hurt them with their girl boss tropes and assume that this movie from WB has them.
Thanks for putting in the effort!
My rankings from worst to best: Mad Max, Thunderdome, Road Warrior, Furiosa, and Fury Road is the best because of the visual storytelling.
Right bro !!! I'm getting tired of these same talking points
I don’t understand why ”Furiosa” failed at the box office.
Well the mad max films have never exactly been smashing box office successes I mean fury road lost to pitch perfect two in its opening week but gained momentum and time went on, nowadays when a film comes out it has to make a shitload of money in a month or it’s getting pulled out of theatres. Also a lot of people judged this movie before they saw it they didn’t care for the massive amount of cgi they used but they also saw this as more woke garbage when in reality it wasn’t it surprised a lot of people b it it is sadly being pulled out of theatres soon so if you want to see it I recommend doing it now while you can.
@@destroissomething2057 I did go to the theater on the first day of its release. I heard that ”Furiosa” failed because a ”Mad Max” film without Mad Max wasn’t interesting enough for people. I liked the film though.
If it had come after an actual Mad Max film people would have been more receptive but everyone is just tired of the message at this point and checking out
It blows
The mad max franchise is one of the wildest franchises I've seen lol
Ikr
One might say it’s mad
It is my favorite franchise! This past Sunday I saw Furiosa and what a helluva precursor it is to Fury Road. Love me some Mad Max. Love the video game too.
Maybe I’m old, but it kills me when people don’t rate mad max 1. It is my all time favourite movie, and just like the first matrix it just gets better with every watch. Why do I love it so much? Max it the most badass cop in the land, and a gang has just killed his family, and now they face his wrathful revenge, and his weapon is the most kickass super pursuit cop car. It was like kill bill but in 1979. Best movie of all time for me.
I agree, but I think because it’s a very different movie, people who don’t start with it can’t help but be disappointed purely because it’s not what they’re expecting. Like First Blood or Evil Dead.
I disagree. It is a movie I greatly respect, but it is no where near the best movie of all time whatsoever. The budget constraints really affected it and the story felt more like a giant prologue for what was to come later in the franchise. If anything, I think Mad Max 2 felt like the true beginning of the franchise and is the film Fury Road owes most of its debt to.
@@captainmarvelwilson508 there is a difference between best movie of all time and my favourite movie of all time. I know other people that also regard it as their favourite movie of all time. But they are Australian men, middle aged or older. I am totally cool with people liking any of the other mad max movies more, but for me MM1 is the Max character at his best, and my other favourite character (being the interceptor) is at its best. It has the best car chases, the best cars (nightrider’s Holden monaro, max’s Holden sandman, new falcon interceptor, yellow pursuit falcons) most entertaining villain, and the most emotion of pure hatred.
@@captainmarvelwilson508 I think it’s less about Mad Max being the best movie of all time (which I don’t even think is being argued here), and more about it not getting the respect it deserves as a great movie.
Max Mad 1 is incredible. It's the charm. The stuttering gear head mechanic: "pp-piece here, ppeice there."
The hard-nosed police captain Fifi:
"They say people don't believe in heroes no more.. well damn them!!"
A society on the verge with gangs like A Clockwork Orange.
The Nightrider inspires future criers of the wasteland warlords and serves as the prototype warboy with his speed freak, fantasticism of his gang leader "do you see me, do ya see me" like the War boys with their "witness" chants.
Mad Max 1 is incredibly slept on.
So strange listening to a 'new viewer' ranking Thunderdome above the first Mad Max. Older Mad Max fans would probably rate that as the weakest of all 5.
if u asked any guy older than 40 years, he would tell you that first two are the best
I think, from first to most recent, the trend is a civilization that crumbles and then rebuilds in a more primitive way. Fury does a nice job of inserting this idea when the lush green is gone and replaced with desert. In this way, the first movie perhaps ties in a bit better. I've also seen it speculated that the Max on Fury is actually the boy from The Road Warrior.
I haven't seen that theory but I like that thought
First off great video, secondly Fury road is a masterpiece from start to finish like there genuinely isn't a single flaw , 10/10, glad u think it's a banger as well bro. Still need to check out the new one i'm pumped for it
First off. THANK YOU! Second off, you are correct 100%
You left out “Waterworld: Mad Max Global Warming.” Incredibly underrated and unappreciated. My favorite Mad Max movie without Mad Max. 🤣🤣🤣
Kevin Costner was Mad Max in that one 😂😂😂
...they need a game for that franchise, too...lol...it could be very similar...upgrade the boat like the Magnum Opus, and just trade the sand for ocean...lol...
The original is underrated as heck!
The 1st was dreadful
@@rogerwelsh2335 *In your opinion
Great content for such a young creator, I hope your channel grows as you're exactly the type of young person CZcams needs more of.
Wow, thank you. That means a lot
You have to understand Mad Max 1 in the context of movies like Dirty Harry and Deathwish. The zeitgeist in the late 70’s was very much about out of control crime and resource shortages (gas lines, etc) and pending breakdown of society.
I enjoyed your video, even though I disagree with your rankings. Honestly, I have never seen anyone rank Beyond Thunderdome higher than any of the other films. Different strokes for different folks and as long as you enjoy it that is all that matters. As much as I love Fury Road (it is my 2nd favorite in the series) I think that The Road Warrior is a better overall movie. I've seen it more than any other movie in my life and never tire of rewatching it. It's a simpler story than Fury Road, but that is not a bad thing. It also feels much more realistic than Fury Road.
Here's my ranking
1. The Road Warrior aka Mad Max 2
2. Fury Road
3. Mad Max
4. Furiosa
5. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Great List! Watched only one of the series! I will definitely watch more of them after seeing your video review!!
Thanks!!
I do have to agree that the first Mad Max is confusing at the first watch because its a fast paced movie. But once you watch it several times all scenes and characters start to make sense and connect perfectly to the plot. One of the elements of the film that I loved was the tension that Toecutter’s gang brought to every scene they were in specially when Max’s wife and son were there
Not gonna lie, I know I’m in the minority but Furiousa is my favorite
Mad Max 2 is your fourth favourite MM movie? Damn, son, that's a controversial opinion! 🤔
my takes are quite dylicious
2 is a Masterpiece
What an act of selfless sacrifice and magnanimousness. You are a genuine hero.
I get why you don’t like the first one, but when you look at the full timeline of Mad Max it makes more sense. It’s set in the mid 80’s, only a few years from when it was made and is the beginning of the end for society.
I also do think it can be slow and not super well put together but you should look at it from a different point of view. They introduce Goose and it feels almost like he is the main character until his accident (the last one of 3). That big accident is what makes him leave the force. You get to know Goose and although he does not die, he has a fate worse which makes you feel what Max feels. I think the main slow parts are all the stuff that happens with the gang which just feels hollow.
Master Blaster underrated villain but man did Hemsworth kill it as Dementus … Furiosa was epic
Yup!
Hell yea it was! Saw it Sunday, I think this was the best performance I have seen from Hemsworth. Anya Taylor-Joy killed it too! She speaks so well just her eyes. Tom Burke was amazing. George Miller is a genius and Furiosa is an absolute masterpiece.
Dementus didn’t even do anything not a single fight scene he didn’t even seem that evil at all hardly a villain
Thunderdome is my favorite from the series.
I loved this vid.. great overview of the Mad Max series.. Tom Hardy.. is my fave.. that cat is best actor of all time IMO!! Thanks
Thanks!
george miller goated fr
Dude doesn’t miss
I respect your opinion on Thunderdome, but back before Fury Road was a thing I reflected on why it didn't hit as hard as The Road Warrior, as I knew the second one then, and I think it felt like characters were more cartoony somehow, like some of the grit was lost. Haven't watched it in a while, though, so maybe my feelings have changed. I also have made my peace with the original Mad Max for being a sort of dreamlike setting in a way, even though I think Miller etc went the right direction with 2. The worldbuilding in all of these is super fun to follow and they really leaned into it with the last two. Thanks for the video
I must have watched the road warrior 100 times as a kid. For this reason I was really sceptical of fury road to the point I held off watching for years, but when I did boy did it blow my socks off. It takes the best aspects of the road warrior (which should be S tier imo) and dials them up to 11 due to as mentioned the technology and budget bumps.
The road warrior will forever be peak mad max though, Mel Gibson just nailed the coolness of the character here and the final shot of him standing on the road is etched in my memory.
Vernon Wells signed my copy of the Road Warrior.
autographing helps him let off some steam
VHS?
In many ways, I found Furiosa to be a superior experience compared to Fury Road. The Mad Max universe feels even more expansive and yet more intimate and layered. Furiosa compelled me to revisit Fury Road. An outstanding prequel.
My ranking...
1) The Road Warrior (classic) 10/10
2) Mad Max (so great) 9/10
3) Furiosa (it almost rivals)
4) Fury Road (i love it, but i love the above 3 more) 8/10
5) Beyond Thunderdome (i enjoy it, but not as much) 6/10
3:39 well yeah, Fallouts creators are very open about their references and inspirations. Mad Max was a massive inspiration on the series.
In the original game one of the ways to get Dogmeat, who is the same Australian Blue Heeler dog breed as in Mad Max, is to find his old owners leather jacket and wear it. In the second game a character named Mel will claim to be Dogmeats owner.
Even the Dogmeat name itself is inspired by the movie a Boy and His Dog.
I totally agree on your ranking , i just don't get it why some people don't like furiosa.
THUNDERDOME PRAISE YEEAAAA BOIII
You don’t know how nice it is to see some Thunderdome love ❤️❤️❤️ I’d personally switch Road Warrior and Thunderdome on the tier list, but my goodness do I love Thunderdome 😂
Have you seen the fan made Mad Max short HOPE AND GLORY?
I haven’t, is it good?
@@DyliciousTakes It might be up there with the best fan films ever made
Aren't those characters from the game (2015)
@@manfredwilson4475 they originated from the graphic novel and the „bible“ George Miller created when making Fury Road. The game used them as well, but the adaptation interpreted them a little differently
@@manfredwilson4475 they took elements from the comic book, video game and the movies to combine to something unique
Fury Road is an elite movie. Best by far!
1. Furiosa
2. Road warrior
3. Mad max
4. Fury Road
5. Thunderdome
My rating list: 1. Furiosa. 2. The Road Warrior. 3. Fury Road. 4. Mad Max. 5. Beyond Thunderdome!!!
Part of the unsung brilliance of the first Mad Max IMHO is that its taking place as the hinges of the world are swinging but not before they've fallen off. Part of the brilliance of the second one is the jarring jump from the first.
I think Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior is the best of the original trilogy
Quick question would you like have seen an older Mel Gibson play the Mad Max in Fury Road? It would have been really cool to have seen Mel at 60 having to navigate this type of environment at an older age.
i would have! I think it could have been a nice closing to his character as well
Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome is painfully underrated. Thanks for giving it its due.
Just re-watched the original _Mad Max_ . I can’t rate it below S tier. This was a groundbreaking film in so many ways!
S max max 2
A mad max
B fury road, furiosa
C
D
E
F max max beyond thunder dome
Need to watch furious a few more times to properly rate it and possibly rewatch the other ones again.
It’s so funny that Theron and Hardy had such great chemistry on film. They despised each other in real life.
The first movie will always be my number one as it felt gritty and real. I like the wasteland setting but even the biker gang in psrt one. I think Toecutter is an unmatched villain.
finally a fair and decent review of this film franchise
Furiosa was awesome. Going back to see it again. Main characters for me is the cars and the crude apocalypse engineering . V8🙏
6:41 19 INCHES OF VENOM GIVING WORK
The pilots thing is confusing but they are not the same character. Gyro Captain becomes the leader of that gas tribe from 2. Jebediah, the one from 3, we dont have more story than that. I dont know if George Miller likes to use actors in multiple movies doing multiple characters, Toecutter actor its also the one representing Immortan Joe.
Also, the reason why the movies are contained and why they dont have any connections is because you aren't seeing the events of the movies, but hearing a recollection of the events told by someone. Specifically, 2 is told by Feral Kid and 3 by Savannah. Fury Road and Furiosa are told by History Man.
Oh I didn’t think about that, that’s actually very interesting point
I thought the ferel kid ended up leading the tribe
It was great and I'm glad I saw it in the theater.
There are certain aspects of thunder dome that I didn’t like. The action scene during the case scenes felt more tame than mad max 2
Mad max 1 and 2 are the best to my opinion. I remember watching this in the 80s.
These youngsters havent got a clue about the story because You can't watch Fury Road, then the first mad max 1!!! 😂 .
its really heart breaking ot know that Furiosa is failing at the theaters... I really want this movie to succeed.. it deserve to succeed
...everybody broke right now!...lol...dont worry, it'll be a cult classic...it could affect future projects, tho...that's why I wanted it to succeed...smh...
Thunderdome is the only bad Mad Max movie. PG-13 with Goonies vibes!
not gonna say the new movies are bad. but the CGI makes them visually really bad to me. its used soo much it has a like a wierd polish over it that not only just stands out. but also makes it look less gritty. while the old ones were very dirty and gritty naturally and it fit the universe more.
Yes the first may be all over the place but if you look back it the first movie only has green grass and nice landscape bc it’s the last few years of somewhat of a normal civilization the other movies are in the future where civilization is gone
Wait so the latest (MAD MAX) doesn’t even have Max in it???
Didn’t watch the video, just came to lol at The road warrior being under thunderdome and beside furiosa in the thumb
Love the franchise and the mad Max game from 2016 was 10/10 too
So I was actually in a similar position as you, I watched Fury Road before any of the others when I was about 14-15 and loved the film and kinda knew about the old films, so I went back and watched them.
The first Mad Max film I feel the same on. It's not bad, but it takes a while to really get into it. Also as a timeline, I think the film is set either just after the apocalypse or just before which is why it looks so different to the others, that and the budget likely had a hand in location.
Mad Max 2 I enjoyed a lot more and could clearly see the similarities between that and Fury Road as I suspect Fury Road is what George Miller really envisioned when making Road Warrior.
Thunderdome I remember not really enjoying as much, I've only seen it once due to that fact and yet don't actually remember much of it. So I may give it another go to see what it's like.
Furiosa I haven't seen yet but I've heard is really good, not sure if I'll be able to see it cinema but when it comes out onto TV I'll definitely check it out.
Also, if you want more Mad Max, there is actually a game for it. It's probably about the same age as Fury Road so it's not recent but I personally think it's an underrated game.
That’s awesome! I have seen gameplay for the game back when it came out. Thought it was very cool
before watching Furiosa, I saw the entire original trilogy of Mad Max and then rewatched Fury Road on Max and enjoyed all of them but Beyond Thunderdome which is just an iffy movie
Mad max that low is crazy bro.
I had the best time watching the original Mad Max with the directors commentary. Really eye opening, guerilla film making😳🥰🍻

Biker gang in first movie is so crazy and real, like they're not acting at all.
Someone that actually talks sense.
Although I prefer 2 I generally watch 1&2 back to back so just as 2 parts to one story arc.
Rest of the list agree with.
Furiosa isn't a MadMax film.. never will be a MM film..
This franchise is so much better than Fast and the Furious!
Mad Max - B, Road Warrior - S, Thunderdome - C, Fury Road - D
Wait..Thunderdome S Tier and Mad Max D Tier?! What?
The first Mad Max is set at the very beginning of the apocalypse so the effects haven’t completely collapsed civilization in Australia yet. And Thunderdome is just doesn’t completely gel together.

Amazed you put Thunderdome in S tier. As someone whose grown up with Mad Max I've always considered that one of the weaker additions. I like the first one becuase it has an eerier and realisitcly creepy feel. If toecutter was after you, you would be worried and I think the film portrays the fear they spread across the area IMO. Repsect yours though good video. Thanks.
I just really liked the expansion thunderdome provided, along with giving max more character development. I applaud the originals use of budget to make something, but the first hour of the movie dragged A lot for me to care by the end of it.
0:24 that’s not an excuse I’m nearly 16 and I saw them years ago
Did you really watch the first movie? They actually explain the timeline that it's when the world is on a brink of going FUBAR but not yet there. I agree it's not the best movie but it's important as to why and how Max became mad and to start the timeline. Also Max got involved with Toecutter first place because he "killed" NightRider while being a force patrol.
Otherwise pretty reasonable review even though many people consider Thunderdome to be the weakest out of 3.
P.S 4:42 Movie literally had gangs called "Gay Berserkers" and "Smegma Crazies"
9:03 they are in fact different characters if you check the credits. I didn't know that either i heard it in a podcast xD
The game fall out is inspired by mad max, of course it went in its own direction still mad max inspired same with the anime fist of the north star
Disagree on the first film. It works great with the first sequel.
I love how humanity hasn’t completely crumbled it’s just on its way there.
I watch them back to back and for me….that’s where the story ends. It’s pretty much all you need.
i will say, the first and second films are pretty much the only films that feel connected in any way...
obviously excusing furiosa of course
There's really no bad Mad Max movie. Even the first one has a distinctive style and mood. Thuderdome was considered a bit of a dud back then, but I think it's the most interesting of the original trilogy. The miracle of Fury Road still baffles me. Old George Miller returns to Mad Max after directing family films like Babe and Happy Feet to make the best action movie ever.
Thunderdome was great but lacked chase scenes. It really expanded the MM world without being boring or too tame. The kids were kinda dumb but didnt ruin it.
Road Warrior is prob the best just pure brutal action
This. I personally consider Mad Max quite aged, and Beyond Thunderdome way too family-friendly, but they both are excellent films on their own, it's just that Road Warrior and Fury Road are way too high on the totem pole.
Every single person I see on the internet seems to oversee 2 monstrous plot holes in Furiosa:
1. When Rictus kidnaps her from the wives's vault, no one asks about her, not even Immortan, who handpicked her. Her dissapearance is never brought up
2. When Dementus hangs her by the arm and proceeds to slowly kill Praetorian Jack, while a fuckload of bikers circle around, she severd her arm off, takes a bike a sneaks out without a single soul seeing her.
This two moments are crucial in her development as the character in Fury Road and are never questioned. What is wrong with you people?
about point 1, i don't know if you actually watched the movie but there's a time skip, the point is: most probably they searched for her, not found her, then kept living their lives, all that while Furiosa was hiding, and working in the Citadel
@@dawuser "Well; that's just lazy writing"
@@indicadierof45 it is not, it's just not important to what the movie wants to tell, there's no need to waste 10 more minutes on explaining it

Hi. I was 11 when Road Warrior came out. Best vehicular action movie of the 80s, imho. Mad Max was terrible, only watched it once, and Tina Turner...? Go watch Rick and Morty's take on this world, it's 100x better than Thunderdome.
I'm with you except for Beyond the Thunderdome. I give it a C- More watchable than Mad Max 79, but just by a little bit. There is a reason that tomato meter is in the 70s for it!
...DOS HOMBRES ENTRAN, SOLO UNO SALE!!!...lol...I use to watch it in spanish with my dad...lol...it was the best when I was a kid, and it still holds up today...it's the comedy for me...lol...plus that sacrifice at the end...smh...it stays with you...smh..."why dad, why did he stay, why didnt he go with them?"...he would just hug me and kiss me...now that I have my kids, I understand dad...
I am not trying to offend you, but your lack of understanding of 1 & 2 proves the younger generation attention spans have been ruined by iPads. Anyone that is older will tell you Mad Max 1 & 2 are the superior movies. 3 fell off. The reason why it took until the last 20’minutes for it to pick up is to show how the toecutter and his gang are vial, self harming nuts. Imagine you are in 1979 and a movie that is first of its kind comes out.. But alas, everyone is entitled to their opinions. You did a real disservice to the OG’s tho.
Mad Max 2 was actually called The Road Warrior, not Mad Max 2.
In my opinion Furiosa and Fury road are the worst in the franchise. They turned unique Australian post-apocalyptic movies into mediocre Hollywood action movies.
Mad Max super fan here. Furiosa is sick, check it out.

Immortan Joe and nuanced don't go hand in hand in the same sentence. I like the character, but nuanced he is not.
Well here’s your problem, you have to understand that without the original there would have never been after Toe Cutter, no Humungas, no Aunty Enitity, no Immortan Joe and no Demetus………… so without the original Mad Max nothing would ever be. You should go watch Mad Max again with that thought in mind. Hint for you, I was 13 years old when I saw the original in the theater. So I understand.
Your opinion is wayyyyyyy off because you never saw the original in theaters because you weren’t even a thing when it was, not your fault, if anything blame your parents………. 😉
When anyone watches a “universe” film it’s best to watch it “in the universe” and not just when you were born………. Big mistake, just saying…….
This is the correct ranking: Fury Road, Furiosa, The Road Warrior, Mad Max, and then Beyond Thunderdome
