    Imagine 2set on America's Got Talent. They're playing Vivaldi wearing nice dress suits when suddenly the music pics up and they RIP off their dress suits to reveal ANOTHER dress suit as they start playing Paganini and the crowd goes still silent as this is a classical music performance and you only clap at the end.

    Not only would AGT not allow pure classical music, they also make every participant sign over the rights to every publication and public appearance for years. What could possibly go wrong for a flourishing CZcams channel ...

    4:17 To those non-wind players out there, you guys probably don’t understand how good are this girl’s flute skills. Playing Paganini fast, smoothly, and evenly is not as easy as it sounds like. She deserves way more credits and applauses!!!
    To play each note clearly, it requires tonguing for every single note, not just simply blow into the flute, otherwise it would be slurring. We need to use double tonguing or even triple tonguing for articulation. Control your tonguing is by no means easier to control than your bow. It’s incredibly hard to play the whole piece fast without letting your tongue get stuck, not even to mention dynamics, rhythm, intonation, and musicality. Plus, unlike string and piano players, we need to breathe between fast tempo passages without interrupting the phrases, just imagine the difficulty

      I read somewhere that hairpins were used as a tempo fluctuation, I think Liszt has < and > hairpins on a single chord somewhere, there's a book that explores that (R. Poli - The Secret Life of Musical Notation). It also suggest that Chopin used hairpins in this 'old' way and it actually makes musical sense (don't harpsichord players delay the note to make it seem louder? Probably slightly slowing down has the same effect, so there's more tension even if you don't physically make it louder).

    2:40 It doesn't matter. All speed is measured based against an inertial frame of reference (think of when you're walking on a train moving 100 km/h; you feel like you're walking down the aisle at 2 km/h and not like you're walking at 102 km/h; the train is your inertial frame of reference), and in this case, the earth would be our inertial frame of reference since we're measuring our time dilation against it. To get into the weeds a bit, the earth *does* accelerate and decelerate a bit over the course of a year due to its elliptical orbit around the sun, so you'd have to account for that acceleration if you planned to keep practicing 40 hours a day for long periods of time, but at any given moment, the speed of the earth, sun, and galaxy are irrelevant to the necessary calculations.
    I should add a big old "if I'm remembering correctly" to all of this, because I'm not an expert, just an enthusiast. This is my understanding of it and I could very well be wrong or missing some important details.

    • @Barpoint212
      @Barpoint212 Před 2 lety +6

      @@sofiaisgar7699 the problem is the 9x/y² term. Division by zero is undefined, so the simplification of y²/y² = 1 is true only when y is nonzero. 0/0 does *not* equal 1. This sounds hairsplitting, but you can "prove" all sorts of nonsense like 1 = 2 if you let an algebraic division by zero creep into your calculations. Example:
      Let a and b be equal and nonzero: a = b
      Multiply both sides by b: ab = b²
      Subtract a² from both sides: ab - a² = b² - a²
      Factor both sides: a(b - a) = (b + a)(b - a)
      Divide out the common (b - a) term: a = b + a
      But b = a, so we can substitute a for b: a = a + a
      So if a = 1, we get 1 = 1 + 1, or 1 = 2, which is obviously wrong.
