The interviewer does a great great job. Super respectful and professional.
Francisco Von Mises surprisingly good
it's like ali g talking though. "what was you like?"
bacardibum lol yeh but I think it’s quite endearing how he maintains his authentic nature and upbringing.
Nice surname
That emotion you see there in Robl about fear of failing, that there is pure and simple what made him a winner in my eyes.
Such a genuine guy.. I wish had friends like this dude right here
lol
It's crazy how much I relate to this guy. Not even towards poker but just his thought process.
Just the same here pal!
Excellent video and interview. I’ve always liked Andrew. I remember years ago when I watched him featured in, From Busto To Robusto, which was a little documentary about his poker lifestyle. He’s certainly grown inside and out since then. When he choked up a little during this interview I got a little chill because I feel the same way as he felt back then and I’m sure the majority of other poker players understand that emotion too. Much respect to Robl
Real men show emotions.. real humans with compassion show this type of emotion. Thanks for the interviews
These interviews are so good!
What a fantastic look to this interview It's so nice to see someone who actually can film a real interview well! New Subscriber!
When he chokes up in the video you realize how much it takes to be great you have to give it everything
Yesssss
what time code?
weezinsuffy at the 6:54 minutes mark. Answering the question about “toughest spots in life”.
Much respect for showing vulnerability during this interview. Looking forward to future interviews from this channel
Definitely. When I saw that emotion I realised it's exactly what separates him from all those who don't make it. That's the drive right there he used to succeed. Failure wasn't an option. I realise as I get older that what separates those who reach truly great heights in any game, sport, occupation simply dedicate everything to that cause or goal, they simply don't take no for an answer. It's the same thing that makes highly successful business people and entrepreneurs, many have had many failures before they made it big, they just have such grit and determination and are relentless in the pursuit of their goals.
Very Touching. Good luck Andrew.
these interviews are very inspiring! keep bringing on more famous poker players! Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Erik Seidel, Fedor Holz, the list goes on, Thank you for this Paul!
Robl is one of the top guys I look up to. Always humble and a sick reader on the felt.
I remember watching a short interview with Robl where he shared a story about how his Dad called him up, made him come home from the casino, and brought him to his school's guidance counsellor to explain why he's dropping out of college. When Robl said "I'm dropping out to become a professional poker player," the counsellor said "I'm so sorry" to Robl's father. Great to see him shove that apology in their face.
How good is this interviewer!
Not often I’m mindful of that fact, but it’s front and center of my mind how magnificent this guy is.
He’s incredible. Love this dude
Far from perfect, but WAY better than most interviewers out there who are absolutely garbage and talk over their subjects. Lee Davy is one of the few interviewers that aren't garbage and if he works on his craft he could be top notch. The most obvious area where he could improve is making his questions more concise and articulating them succinctly first time, instead of saying something and then having to waste time qualifying it or contextualizing what he just said. Overall he's a good dude though, we need more of him. He's a breath of fresh air in a world of interviewers who are dog shit on toast. Lee gets things out of his subjects that the vast majority of interviewers today would never even get close too. Lee should watch Dick Cavatt. I think he could learn a thing or two from such a master.
He makes Joe Rogan look like Logan Paul. Best interviewer I've ever seen.
@Joseph Kuka 🙄
This is quality content!!!! thanks Paul & team.
This is really good. And great questions. I don’t want to stop watching. And it’s cool to see someone like Andrew who isn’t full of him self and doesn’t talk BS to look cool. He seems like a very down to earth person. Hope there is more of these coming in the future.
Adam Pasquale well said mate!
Lots of respect to you Andrew! I’ve seen you in some games and this interview is really great to get to know you. This gives a good vieuw of the pressure thats on you as a player in the real world.
This is very inspirational... Makes me want to get my books and get into poker theory and keep on studying for the grind.
This interviewer leads these peoples where he wants. Robl would never go here on his own.
I can't get over how fantastic this interviewer is
Very interesting to really get to hear about people many of us just see at a poker table. Your anecdote about your change of direction in life brilliantly allowed Andrew to speak about something naturally and you always let your interviewees speak for themselves. Andrew seems a very grounded interesting person and this series is a real delight at showing us the human aspect. Thanks to you all. ☺
Great interview!
Paul Phua and his team are making GREAT content! I tune into every one of these! Great people! Great stories! Great production value! Keep it up guys! So nice!~
Amazing interview.. wow.. always admired Andrew Robl... he is such a good sport and is always open to sharing information that will help people improve! 📈
Really good stuff, and there isn't a lot of good content like that for poker players. I could really relate.
As someone that is still playing 2/5 live games and trying to make it , I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks!
6:52 -7:24 Pure emotion!!!!
he always seemed like he had incredible will power. like some navy seal level willpower. keep crushing bro
Great interview, great interviewer. Robl is just very loveable.
another really good interview....
LOVED THIS INTERVIEW! ROUTING FOR YOU ANDREW!!
His voice alone can tilt anyone. That’s why he’s so good.
I genuinely never liked seeing this guy play but this is the most down to earth normal poker pro Ive ever heard. Very likeable.
These are the best interviews of poker players ever. Not all the how much did you win in a day, the biggest game you played - but who are you, and how did you get her. Great job!
Thanks a lot paul! great content, please do a part two with this sicko
Great interview!!!! Much respect!!! Good luck!!
Damn, this was so good. I got into poker after you but I let my introversion stop me after BF. You give me hope, I might start playing again. I miss it so much, not just playing, but, that I could trust the people that I knew in the poker world with anything. Thanks for doing this vid, it may just be the inspiration that I need.
What a lovely interview. Great discussion you two. Best wishes
very inspiring
Charming honesty by both
Never expect such good quality of interview for poker player. He should coach o how to do interview
Why am I just seeing this now? So good. Also Robl is so relatable and endearing what a cool dude!
For sure not the best poker player if he "signed the contract", you will figure it out ;)
Really miss those time and Andrew was a true inspiration for me. Truly one of the best players to understand the meaning of bankroll management.
Good luck Andrew!

Great interview! I like how indepth it goes about emotions/behavious that are part of everybody's life, but you can live your whole life missing them and wondering why you do what you do
I like this guy. He's genuine and smart and self-aware.

No fear in eyes
Great interview. Good job Paul!!
this one hits hard! so raw!
Robl is awesome. From the moment I saw him on televised poker I thought he was a cool guy. In a heterosexual way. Just a good role model and seem's an easy going and nice guy. This interview really confirms my first impressions all those years ago.
I know i have much more respect for Andrew after this interview.
very good interview especially by robl although i think we all know who the best poker player in recent history has been ( ivey )
im sitting here waiting for robl to talk about staking JRB, and then I realize these guys are having a much more meaningful conversation about life as opposed to poker and money.............................
Awesome..!!
the sad piano music in the background 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Andrew speaks like a young Jimmy Stewart
This gives me hope🥺
Was his first sentence, “ I am married with a dog” 😂
Great interview, but my throat hurts from listening
Thank you for this great content, respect for Andrew, be happy......
Motivational Stuff.
never forget this guy got quaded over quaded and was like " wtf" :)
Great candor.
I'm just past the "doubting" part and i just have to say how much i respect the openness. And the sentiments hit home for me as well (some of the same struggles). Taking an unconventional path in life with nobody really believing or understanding you is extremely hard, especially if it is a 180 degrees in the opposite direction of your family, friends, and peers. I actually feel the doubt comes full circle and you end up deeply questioning yourself. Reminds me of a great quote: "“I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am".
What it means is we often live in a perception of a perception of ourselves. The pressures surrounding that more often than not keep people from being the person they could be and from living the best version of themselves. Much respect for Robl fighting through that and being open about it.
First heard that quote here actually: czcams.com/video/2nzBWfjdHcI/video.html
EDIT: Just got a little further and they both talk about the group and peoples perception. Wizards.
Top shelf.
Great Video Andrew - I don't know why but when I see you - you remind me a little of Luke Skywalker - 😊
